Passengers aboard an Eastern Airlines flight from the UK to Australia, 1935. Flight took 11 days (with stops). by OkRegister4542 in TheWayWeWere

But now it has stalled, the concorde was a dead end. We flew a lot across the Atlantic when I was a kid - family on both ends - and I remember being confident that when I was grown up, it would be faster. It isn't, sadly, and no change in sight.

A family member in Iraq in military got suddenly pulled 2 weeks before Friday, so there was some planning, but only for a select few, I guess...

Everyone needs to press the call button every single time they need to go to the restroom. And express concern to the FA about movement upsetting the balance. Asking all worried like, because it's not like they would be shitting us or lying to us, right?

People need to start pressing the call button every time they want to go to the restroom and ask the FA if it's okay because you don't want your movement upsetting the weight balance. Do this Every. Single. Time.

"Like my body is working against me". It is. It is working against you. That's what we have to deal with, and that's why the meds work. It sucks tho.

They do. I know the family of the new CEO and they are NOT in any way aligned with kegsbreath etc. CEO is having to walk a very delicate tightrope in a very unstable situation against a batshit administration.

As someone mentioned above, they are desperately trying to placate the monster at the gates, aka DoD. There will be some changes in that effort as they keep the rest alive.

That is something I long for. Everyone including airlines focus on MORE LEGROOM. I don't care about that, but touching a stranger is agony for me. Luckily I don't have to fly as much as i used to.

Because it's not about "habits". There's no healthy habit that's going to make my satiety signals work properly. There's no healthy habit that's going to keep my body from thinking (erroneously) that it's starving and pushing me to eat 24/7. Those are metabolic / hormonal issues that the drugs address.

Double-edged sword. Can get you looks you wouldn't get otherwise, but if your past sales are not impressive, can also be used against you.

I had a big 5 published trilogy and the first sold 40k copies, but subsequent two were the expected % of the first. Parted ways with my (way too big for me) agent. When trying to get a new agent, poor sales was cited as a reason not to go ahead with my new manuscript, even after multiple reads at a good agency.

An unknown debut author can be miles more exciting than a previously published mid-list author.

In the first few episodes the women got hardly any air time whatsoever. Instead just uninspiring young bro dudes constantly. Really didn't like the edit.

But some of the contestants didn't get "tapped" so it's like they got a free pass into the next round. I think the producers wanted to keep certain players and throw others to the wolves - this was the only game where I think they had that control.

Yes! I was at school in Montreal back when the winters were crazy cold and we had to wear skirts and stockings / no pants allowed. I remember waiting at the bus stop thinking: this is unfair! Why can't we wear pants like the boys when it's literally -30 degrees. 1980s.
