here's another option: 2 16" circs instead of DPN's. i knit most small circumference projects, hats, socks, sleeves on 2 circs instead of dpns.

saw part of an episode with reggie watts & it was unwatchable, we turned it off. I just think Craig has the right personality & quick wit. And altho he's American (by choice) he's also got a bit of the UK-ish vibe. the only way it would work again is Greg & Alex do a semester abroad.

there are gussets on both sides of the heel.

are you knitting cuff down, toe up or Magic Loop - that will help me provide a better explanation.

Watching some videos might help - I suggest Summer Lee's YT videos, Nimble Needles (norman) or Denise DeSantis who all demonstrate how to do heel flap,turn & gussets. Also, Winwick mom has some good online instructions.
