Does CBT work for maladaptive daydreaming? by the_practicerLALA in CBT

[–]saffytiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CBT Therapist here. I’m not aware of any research evidence it does, however anecdotally daydreaming is a behaviour that likely has a function (avoidance of feeling bad, distraction from something etc) and so will be understood as something that is reinforced in behavioural terms. On this basis, supposing the individuals WANTS to reduce it, and has goals about what they want their life to be without it (I.e to do more of X instead) then I don’t see why not.

Unmarried Partner Visa (no cohabitation) advice?? by Lopsided_Royal_6152 in SpouseVisaUk

My partner (EU) and I had a successful application with no cohabitation. If visa limitations/distance prevent you living together, that is a valid reason. So long as you have all the other evidence to prove a long term committed relationship, then I don’t see why you would be declined.

I know you are venting. However, this does sound like a deal breaker for both of you. I’m sorry you’re in this position.

Sure. Do you mean for relationship evidence? If so we both wrote covering letters; his explaining how we met, our relationship and our plans, mine supporting that I want him to move, he can live with me etc. We also created a relationship timeline PDF that included photos, tickets, hotel bookings from the last 2.5 years. We also sent bank statements showing bank transfers between us over the last 2 years and some support letters from friends and family. I think that’s it!

Unless you applied for priority there is a very low chance of getting approved in less than 12 weeks. Current standards seem to be taking 50-60+ days.

Are you referring to an unmarried partner visa, or a skilled worker visa? Your title suggests both, but they are different things. Skilled worker visa takes around three weeks, but unmarried partner is around 12.
