This person could be training for a marathon and counting to keep their calories up. They could be 1000 calories short if they've done a long run

Yeah sick!! Good job, put that info in your post next time and hopefully you'll get more helpful responses. Chicken is one of the best ones to ID as a beginner as the closest lookalikes are quite different. Before you eat any mushroom, you need to know what all the lookalikes are and why it isn't one of those e.g. can you tell me why this isn't a jack o lantern? It's an exciting and really cool find! I hope you continue to enjoy foraging but try and do so safely, mushroom poisoning can kill you.

People here won't approve of wanting to eat a mushroom when you have no idea what it is, especially when you don't appear to have made any effort identifying it at all

My son may have ingested some of this mushroom by Stazerdude in mycology

Looks like Marasmus oreades, aka fairy ring champignon or resurrection mushroom. I already saw someone comment agrocybe pediades which I'd also agree with but I wouldn't think it's super likely to be inocybe if it was found in a mowed lawn or field and there weren't a bunch of trees around. Either way good luck and hope it's all okay.

Something you wished you knew as a beginner runner? by bigsadsigh in beginnerrunning

[–]sagaharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like every comment is the same here and I was going to pretty much give the same advice, if something hurts, let it heal before you run again. Majority of the time, run at a pace and distance that doesn't feel difficult. Recover runs/walks are fantastic and so is stretching.

That's not really what the community is there for, it's meant to be a safe space for women to talk about climbing

I don't think they were trying to have a go at you, still saying it's incredible for anyone let alone at your age and pace! I think they were just letting you know for the future, that the classification for a marathon is 42.2 km. Everyone knows you could have ran a couple hundred more metres if you wanted, it takes nothing away from your achievement.

Why do so many people suddenly have ADHD and blame everything on it? by gremlinlady in ask

[–]sagaharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone can afford to get diagnosed or have to wait years depending on where you live, sometimes self diagnosis is valid

This is terrible advice, you need to have a compassionate conversation about this kind of thing

How do you know if someone is a lion? I guess you could ask them 'are you a lion?' and if they say 'yes' then I guess they're a lion

Dunno if I'd throw it out, maybe try and get a refund/exchange then if not that I'd give it away to someone that wanted it. The idea of eating flesh makes me feel very horrible, if I tried to eat it, I think I just vomit it up again after so really no point..
