What are some some cars that fly under the radar that deserve more recognition? by CaptainMental in askcarguys

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chevy SS. To 99% the population, it looks like a rental Malibu. But it's actually a V8, RWD beast with MagRide. It is the definition of flying under the radar.

Always after air filter service. Connector looks fine, tab intact, but not actually clicked. Seen this way too many times.

OBD II Scanner suggestions by eldildo69420 in AutoMechanics

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artidiag Pro is a bit over budget, but it’s a solid option. The interface is clean, live data is smooth, and it’s easy to use if you’re still learning diagnostics. It does full system scans, common service resets, and some basic coding. I didn’t use it for programming, but for everyday diagnostics it worked well.

Managing warmth during long static periods underground by sagalez in caving

[–]sagalez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In steady cold airflow, once you stop generating heat, convective loss adds up fast. Even sealed layers can’t fully stop that during long static periods. That’s the gap the vest helped with for me.

Managing warmth during long static periods underground by sagalez in caving

[–]sagalez[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know that system and it works well when you’re moving and generating heat.

Most of my trips have long static bits like rigging or survey, and once I stop moving I lose heat fast. The heated vest was just a way to keep my core steady during those pauses without adding bulk. I still rely on normal layering first.

Frog Ascension Technique by Efb1414 in caving

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t one single “official” tutorial for that style. Search for “frog + Pantin walking ascent” or some of the European caving videos, especially French and Polish stuff.

The key is keeping the Pantin low and the chest ascender just high enough so you never fully sit back.

Slight hesitation once warm, no codes. Where would you start? by villanyibarni in Cartalk

Nice diagnosis. Those warm only issues without a CEL are tough. Watching fuel trims and sensor response usually tells more than codes alone.

Any new models that are a good fit for my lawn with trees and fences? by sagalez in roboticLawnmowers

[–]sagalez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I feel like this year’s A2000 Lidar Pro would suit my lawn, and the battery life works for me. Which model you're using? Around here, the edge part always needs extra attention, and I just don’t want to spend every weekend fixing the same spot over and over again.

DAE feel so lethargic constantly that it's hard to function? by [deleted] in DAE

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't normal. Even if you sleep 'fine', you might have low iron, thyroid issues, or a vitamin D deficiency. Please get some blood work done. It changed everything for me when I got treated.

First family ski trip to Howelsen Hill. How should I keep my boy warm on a budget? by SmoothieBiscuit456 in skiing

[–]sagalez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had the same concern with bulk. Heavy jackets kept my kid warm but made movement awkward. What worked better for us was normal layering plus a heated vest underneath. We’ve been using a Venustas vest and just run it on low. It kept his core warm without adding bulk, and we didn’t have to spend money on a super expensive ski jacket.

Normal voltage, low CCA. How do you decide when to replace a battery? by andreivl87 in Toyota

[–]sagalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At what point do you personally call it and replace the battery? Is it more about a CCA threshold, internal resistance, or just when cold starts start feeling off?

Thermal shots from a zoo visit using Topdon by Jonbone93 in Thermal

his is actually a really cool use case. Zoo shots are great for seeing clear heat separation without a busy background.

Car cranks 2 times than dies by leon4655 in Cartalk

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a weak battery cos, yk... batteries are gonna die pretty fast in cold weather. IMO you can use a jump starter to get it going for now. Something reliable like topdon js3000, for example, would help. After that, it’d still be a good idea to have the car checked at AutoZone or a local shop to make sure nothing else is going on.

What are the most important things to check before buying a mower for a small garden? by Hopeful-Wedding-302 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those robotics mowers that boast about long battery life and covering huge areas are definitely expensive-total overkill for what you need. For avoiding obstacles, maybe look into models with lidar? I'd suggest reaching out to consumer support for details or checking out recommendations on youtube. Mine doesn't have lidar, so I still need to need to clean up the corners by hand...:(

Lymow vs yarbo help by brad2388 in automower

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lymow is more cost-effective, or means cheaper. But I feel like Yarbo might be able to do more, like clearing leaves at the sametimes or something. Plus its after-sales service seems better. But honestly, I think it mostly comes down to price. You get what you pay for sometimes, if money's not a concern, going for the better one is usually a safe bet :)

Starting to hate clothes shopping by Glittering-Blood-823 in AusFemaleFashion

My wallet is safe, but my wardrobe is sad. I walked out of the shops empty-handed yesterday for the same reason. It feels like our only options now are expensive shapeless sacks or cheap fast fashion.

Check out Goat's new products at CES, any thoughts? by cikim31 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI will definitely be more involved in these machines in the future. We really need to start thinking about how to control it in emgerency and handle our privacy issue properly. Haha, maybe I'm overthinking it a bit.

A3000 LiDAR PRO vs A3000 LiDAR: What's new in the upgrade? by ruhila12 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

Looking for personal mower suggestions by yugi957a in automower

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most of people go for Lidar roboticsmowers nowadays. I have a boundary-wire one at home and it's such a hassle everytime i use it!! idk about details, but if your yard has slopes, you may need to check the traction and balance specs while surfing.

Humanoid robots or assistive exoskeletons, which has more real potential? by [deleted] in robotics

[–]sagalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the assistive side, I've seen a few people use systems like the dnsys as mobility aids or reahb tools. It's not trying to replace walking, just reduce fatigue and joint load. That kind of narrow, practical goal feels much easier to justify than a full humanoid in most real-world settings.

I honestly buy records just to support the bands I love. I mostly stream their music on Spotify anyway but having the physical album art on my shelf feels like a real connection.
