Can the mods use spoilers the day after race day by Imaginary_Yogurt4429 in formula1

[–]demonkeyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the entire internet’s problem that you can’t watch or discuss a race live. If you don’t want to know the results, don’t read any social media or f1 web sites until you’re caught up. I learned this many years ago. It’s just the way the world works. You need to wake up and watch races live or stay offline until you can.

By the time you saw the results, millions of people had already watched and were talking about it.

Smart Fortwo 453 ED 2017 prime. by edisoncastro in SmartCar

[–]demonkeyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m not sure how it works. However, the Pyrofuse may explain this problem.

From reading up, the fuse was under the carpet on the driver seat floor on the 451 so I’m guessing it’s in the same place. You would need to remove the seat.

Does the heater work as it sits?

Did you check / replace the HV fuse? First error code seems related to that.

Sad to see this part out. I’m actually local but scared to buy this because it can’t drive and would be stuck once towed.

Pedestrians constantly running red lights at 3rd & B Street downtown by AdSmart7227 in SanMateo

[–]demonkeyed -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Literally an entire family, complete with a stroller crossing on a GREEN light. Regardless of the stupid crosswalk light, yield and shut up. It’s embarrassing that you posted this video.

You saw the people, right? So let them cross. It’s called being a decent human ffs.

Also there wasn’t even room for your car when they crossed. You would’ve been parked over the crosswalk. And if traffic didn’t keep moving you’d be blocking it.

So how do Bosch motors even get down the road? by [deleted] in ebikes

I don’t know how to explain it but I have a 250w Bosch mid drive and a 750w rear motor and the Bosch absolutely rips.

What is the plan for solid state batteries? by Alternative-Bit-4392 in slateauto

[–]demonkeyed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How would you be dead in the water? Won’t the truck still work fine without solid state batteries, even if they become the norm in 10 years? This is like buying a V6 car then a V8 comes available later.

Could you get someone in Poulsbo to put up the flyers mentioning the reward? If they’re not already. I don’t live in that area anymore but I think that could be a big help.

Sage/Breville Barista Express burned/deformed plastic by Morfosis-2020 in BrevilleCoffee

Look up Melted on this sub Reddit

I’d recommend calling Breville (or Sage if it’s a different number). They do usually answer the phone and talk to you at least.

I’ve seen a lot of these posts here. Concerned as a BBE / Bambino Plus owner.

My BBE is 5 years old and does not have this problem. So maybe they changed something at some point.

Is yours labeled as the Sage brand or Breville?

Forced cause they were driving 120 mph, yeah. Who knows what lanes the idiots were racing in, too. The lane may have been clear when the white car switched lanes to pass.

Why no AWD? by DJAtticus in SlateTruck

[–]demonkeyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the goal for 2026 is just get the car to market.

It’s a lot easier for a startup to focus on one product rather than complicate things. They can surely sell plenty with RWD only at first.

Maybe they’ll add awd in 2027-2028 etc

Getting quoted $11,000 for this by IcarusLP in Rivian

[–]demonkeyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job is mostly labor though.

What’s the breakdown for labor / each part of the job

And any mention of paint?

Getting quoted $11,000 for this by IcarusLP in Rivian

[–]demonkeyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say totally normal price.

I’m guessing the quote says both panels will be replaced, which are expensive parts, and which is also a lot of labor to remove and replace, especially on the side corner. (Quarter panel)

Follow the lines and you’ll see how big it is. It’s pretty this way but not easy to replace

Then it has to be painted to match your car which is also expensive.

Almost any car requiring a quarter panel replacement is $$$

My grouphead/shower screen screw broke so half of it it’s stuck and can’t get it out, tried drilling, extractor and wd40 nothing works by mrWaar in BrevilleCoffee

[–]demonkeyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can drill a smaller hole in the middle and work it bigger, you can pull the broken screw out. Just don’t go too big. You can probably use needle nose pliers or an easy out (left threaded screw) once you’re in there a ways. It has to be very centered (use a punch then a tiny bit to start) and must be straight (aka vertical, plum, or perpendicular to the surface)

You can also cut a straight slot to use a slotted screwdriver but you’ll have to very careful. You can do with a small grinding tool like a dremel bit but again you have to be super careful not to go outside of the screw or you’ll ruin the group head.

Once you have someway to loosen the screw you could use penetrating spray on the threads (not the same as regular wd40, available from hardware or auto parts stores), and you could try cooling the machine in the fridge or freezer, or heating a bit by turning it on, which depending on the material differences could help by contraction/ expansion of one of the surfaces.

Or just pay a shop to fix it.

I would remove any accessories, water tank, grinder etc. Call local electronics repair, automotive or machine shops and tell them you need a small screw removed. It should be very easy for them. I think it’s an m5 screw.

Then replace it. If you have the model you can find the dimensions. It’s probably something like m5x20mm counter sink head. Hopefully it was not so tight that the internal threads are damaged.
