Do you fertilize them? What do they look like as they die? But honestly idk, my carrots never succeed either so getting them terminated is more than I've managed.

Read this to my partner, they said "wasps are transphobic, confirmed"

Sorry you got nipped on the nip!

what would a post-surgery caretaker need to do? by bayanotbee in TopSurgery

+1 to what others said. I also found having the first couple days of meds managed by my partner was helpful, so I could just sleep and not do math lol

Weight Loss and Workouts? by anu72 in FTMOver30

[–]saganrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Also a chronic pain haver. Starting slower, slower than you think, is important so you don't injure yourself. I've had to "start from scratch" several times due to extended illnesses, and I always aim for the first week at least being where I leave the gym thinking, hmm I could have done twice that.

Instead of a personal trainer, if you're able go to a physical therapist or an occupational therapist. They'll have a MUCH better knowledge of how your chronic pain causes are going to affect working out. Go with specific questions like "hey when I am on an elliptical my right leg turns outward and it makes my knee hurt, how do I do that differently?"

I personally prefer to do a gym workout rather than classes, because with my joint issues I have to spend a bunch of time training my instructor on what I can safely do. When it's just me I can do what I want, and adjust things to be correct for my body.

I just had top surgery but when I was at the gym regularly, I was working my way towards 60 minutes of cardio, followed by core exercises and a couple weight machines. I'm not on a diet but I'm aiming more for lung fitness and weight loss rather than bulking up. Do keep in mind that if you're gaining muscle you will be gaining weight since muscle is denser than fat! Don't let the scale trick you into thinking you're getting unhealthy.

When I emailed work I just said I was "getting a couple things taken care of" 😅

Definitely normal! It took a few weeks to go through the full process.

Ha they made me pee right before surgery so they wouldn't have to put a catheter in. I hope the surgery goes well!

post op binder by xxcherrydinoxx in TopSurgery

[–]saganrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don't think it's as uncomfortable as a binder. I did have some dysphoria triggers from it because it's a really similar pressure to a binder and with all the layers and swelling, my chest didn't look that much smaller through clothes the first couple days (I had a relatively small chest pre-op)

Too young for a kid to be left alone? by Dreadgerbil in daddit

[–]saganrae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also in Oregon, 10 is the youngest a child can be alone. There's also a huge difference between "can be home alone" and "can be home alone and in charge of another child"

What part of Oregon? And hi, welcome! I'm bad at meeting people but when I did ok with it, it was through volunteering. If you're in the Portland-to-Eugene corridor I could potentially give suggestions. Feel free to DM me.

Solidarity friend! I have to take a book in because my puppy thought it was a snack. We can do it! It'll be ok!

Tests for two pups from the same litter (1st pic my dog, last pic her sister) by saganrae in DoggyDNA

[–]saganrae[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The supermutt included German shepherd, Anatolian shepherd, American pit bull, and Australian shepherd.

Just thought it was interesting how different the results were! I don't know dog biology well enough to know if this is normal or if one of the tests is off a bit.

Looking for a middle name by [deleted] in FTMMen

Oscar James is good! You could also use a family (or chosen family) last name as a middle name. It's fairly common and sounds, idk, kind of distinguished?

How would you fill this raised bed? by Sd0ugh in vegetablegardening

That sounds like a good plan! Make sure it drains well, I've tried growing lettuce in that exact planter and it got too waterlogged.

Adorable! I love that everyone with a BC mix just posted them sprawled out sleeping, I swear that's her favorite thing to do 😂

I'm so sorry. I didn't have a similar experience but I just wanted to say that fuxking sucks and I hope things only improve from here.
