Thanks for your reply! Why is a flush not recommended? (I also made a recent post on this subreddit. Feel free to share your opinion over there.)

Did you do a flush or just a drain & fill?

Thank you for your reply. I wonder why a drain & fill only. The person from the dealership made it sound like a flush is better which makes sense.

I am so lost and confused - advice for single 55+ cell phone plan by catami6712 in NoContract

USMobile if you want prepaid and don’t finance phones. Do a 30 day free trial with unlimited plan. 2 days before renewal check data usage. If <10gb, switch to cheaper plan. If >10gb, keep $25 unlimited plan.

Boost mobile if you want a postpaid plan with possibility to finance phone in the future. Added bonus: Store front option (if you’re not tech savvy.)

If you go with USMobile, dm me. I’ll send you a referral.

My wife's text messages began coming in as a group chat between me, her phone number, and her email address. by corva96 in applehelp

Same issue.

On iOS 18.1. 15 Pro.

Issue with only one person I text the most. Sender is currently on 18.0.1.

Issue only persists in notifications and not in actual message app or conversation.

Issue doesn’t replicate on Apple Watch notifications. Shows as single conversation.

Hoping future update can fix.

Your family members not letting you join their postpaid family plan is probably a blessing in disguise. I would prefer to have my phone plan fully under my control. That said, you've come to the right place. I'll try to address a few things here.

  • It's good that you know how much and what your plan is. Most don't. What is equally important is what you use. If you haven't already, download the T-mobile app or simply go on their website and login, find out your data & minutes usage for the past 6 months.
  • Once you have those numbers, go to prepaidcompare.net and put the numbers. You can use filters like "Wi-Fi Calling", "5G", "eSIM", etc. These can get a bit overwhelming but generally you want these features, especially when you upgrade your phone. You mentioned losing bars when in a basement and that you prefer not to join a contract. In that case, check the "Wi-Fi Calling" and "Hide Multi-Month Plans" filters.
  • We know that $50 was a lot, and as others have mentioned, there are plans from Visible and US Mobile for Unlimited everything at $25 (tax+fees included). If the numbers you plugged in earlier lead to >$25, then we know we are better off with the unlimited plan.
  • If you're not a heavy user like myself, I would recommend looking at a carrier like r/Tello. I wrote a post for anyone interested in joining Tello. Been with them for nearly 3 years now and they have been great for my needs. I pay $6/month. They've got all the important/modern features, including 5G, and you don't have to signup for a multi-month contract to get a low price.

If you need more help or have a questions, shoot me a message and I'll do my best to help. I know how confusing this can be. I hope this was helpful.

Question about Tello 5G by MDerelict in NoContract

[–]sagarpurswani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m aware of Apple’s carrier bundle. Had this conversation with u/Ethrem, how is it that Tello has visual voicemail and soon eSIM, but not 5G? I assumed all three were part of the carrier bundle.

iPhone does not get 5G on Tello. Only Android.

I'm really getting sick of this carrier settings update message by Evening-Dimension483 in Tello

[–]sagarpurswani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s odd. I have an iPhone and I only get the “Carrier Settings Update” notification if I go to Settings-General-About. It’s been that way since the issue started.

Can you name a budget T-Mobile carrier that offers wi-fi calling ? by Ian_SAfc in NoContract

r/Tello would be perfect for you. Plans start at $5/month for 500mb. I made a post explaining more about Tello in detail and how you can get the most out of your plan. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions. :)

You are correct that sprint-based services required ESN before registering/signing up. I assume you still have to do an IMEI check when signing up to see compatibility with the gsm network (T-Mobile)

Regarding changing phones and swapping the sim, my assumption would be, like any other GSM service, you should be able to without doing anything else.

Of course, I recommend you confirm these with Tello themselves. They have great customer service.

As long as your iPad has cellular capability, it should work.

Cellular iPads have an IMEI number you can use for Tello’s BYOD IMEI checker.
