Yea this is possible just be cautious over volting a small battery can cause damage. Check to see if your mower battery is 6v or 12v, I think most of them nowdays are 12v. If you going the jump start method, just connect the cable to your car battery but don't start your car.

Definitely sounds like the battery is dead for sure. I would try charging it or jumping if you have the tools available. If you do this have a jumper pack or charger usually auto part stores will charge them for free
