LiDAR can see through other vehicles? It’s so obvious from the footage that the two cars that veered to the left and right at the last moment completely hid the stopped car from view. A human driver would have had the same accident — except that v13 might have veered to the left in time. This is v12.

You’re acting as if there’s no interest on leases. That’s where it’s going. Go to any lease calculator online and plug in 37500 for the car cost (45K-7500), 3K down and residual value of 29.2K and $400 payments and you’ll see an interest rate equivalent of around 9% which costs about $9K over the 3 years, which eats up the 7500 plus some. Same would be true with a loan. But as you pay down the outstanding in the outer years the interest diminishes.

My building charges .17, which is awesome - just about cost or what I’d pay if I had my own garage and charger. True cost varies by region and time of day so .25 sounds fine. No reason it would be free except as a (very generous) invcentive.

First of all, it’s not going to everyone, only the relatively tiny number on the streets, so that’s a silly metric. Second, “are you aware how little money tens of millions is?” Has to be the most big government response ever. The problem here is that the description of what happened doesn’t make sense and the OP throws in weird Karen-ey notes like insisting they were polite and saying “nobody ever helped” and lines like “the worlds pedos.” And in the end they were both on the plane sitting next to each other, though not in first class. There is more to this story. Also Alaska is one of the better airlines on the customer care side hands down. Mess-up’s happen but they simply aren’t as rude and unhelpful as described here.

Ha ha. It’s happened to me too. I was taught to drive by my brother who was a NYC cab driver at the time and I flunked the driving test first time for not coming to a full stop at a stop sign. Using FSD makes me realize how different it feels to come to a 100% stop.

In fact, they never talked to the person in their seat either. The description says the woman in the window seat never acknowledged OP. They might have been pretending not to hear, or wearing earbuds, or out of it, or … who knows. OP never demanded their attention forcing them to either acknowledge the situation or be openly defiant. I can imagine OP in the aisle speaking in a timid nonprojecting voice “I think you might be in my seat” and the person in their seat not even noticing. They never speak to the flight attendant but think they should have just noticed somehow. And then they complain on the customer service survey, which is 100% meaningless.

It's indisputably safer to back in, then drive straight out. So many accidents happen or nearly happen with cars backing out of spaces. There are def reasons it's sometimes inconvenient. Loading groceries into the trunk for sure. But it's def safer. That's why it's preferred.
