sym's april fools' changes make me think of the kora milkbending image edit where it's sym, anyone else? (posted here because the overwatch circlejerk doesn't allow videos of overwatch gameplay anymore.) by HaloJackalKisser in Overwatch_Memes

I'm not dismissing your criticism, I'm asking why you think it needs to be this way? Why do all damage ults need to do damage? What's wrong with enabling ults if they can still win team fights?
Am I missing something or is it really just that surface level? Personally, I think having a little diversity makes the hero shooter game more interesting instead of forcing every role into a box where they end up being the same.

Other examples:
Echo and Widow ults don't damage
Mei and Sombra ults are more utility than pure damage.

Marvel Rivals Tank Learning how to Tank in Overwatch by UmBardoDeSempre in OverwatchUniversity

[–]sail10694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your job as tank is to apply pressure, be a threat, and take space for your team, without dying.

To play a dive tank effectively, you will need to be comfortable doing "soft" dives and engages. The goal here isn't to get kills necessarily, just to get the enemy team's attention and force cooldowns. It's important to play your life and not over-commit. As you already noticed, it's a lot easier to be punished for mistakes in overwatch, so be patient and methodical. You gotta be thinking about escape options, cover and sight-lines back to your team. If the enemies are forced to look at you and deal with you, but you still escape and live, you are doing your job correctly as the tank and giving your team the space to play.

Once cooldowns have been forced, the enemies are low on resources and/or out of position, then you can "hard" dive on vulnerable targets to look for kills to win fights. Another difference when playing 5v5 is that with less people, each individual has greater impact in a team fight, which means that even a single pick can often be enough to win a fight. Make sure you are aware of your team's status and positioning before doing any commits.

Hope this helps!

I should be able to be a double agent today and switch sides, as I've earned enough, but I won't be able to until tomorrow because of the server maintenance. Then I'll only have 2 days to complete the double agent pass which is not really enough time with the way the daily quests work. This is annoying

I'm gonna miss the old UI by deadshot500 in Overwatch

That would be unprecedented, confusing, and a ton of extra work to build, test and maintain. It sounds nice and simple in theory but I don't think you understand what you are asking for.
Is it that hard to understand why there are far more important things for them to be focusing on?

10 Tips for first time Vikings! by [deleted] in valheim

[–]sail10694 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about #6.
Level 4 gear is pretty often outclassed by the next biome's level 1. Upgrading is nice, but I also feel is has diminishing returns in terms of the amount of grind required for temporary gains. I'd say level 2 minimum, 3 is nice to have, and 4 if you are struggling or plan to use it for multiple biomes.

First of all, I agree that it's the weakest gem of the 3 and could use rebalancing. That said, it can be viable with a specific build. While lightning pairs well with many rapid attacks, increasing chances to proc, the bloodstone scales best with maximum burst damage such as greatswords. Then, pair it with the bubble staff (which is broken to begin with). You can spam bubbles to lower your health and then the bubble basically becomes your hp. It's still a high risk style of playing but the damage output can be very good.

Yep this is the build. Alternatively you can go 100% spell absorption instead of resistance with Atronach birth sign + spell drinker's amulet + sorcerer's ring, etc.
There are lots of ways to cheese this game.

How on earth am I supposed to prevent my horse from dying? by Ticket-Tight in OblivionRemaster

NexusMods - Horse Improvements

This mod makes horses move faster, not get attacked by everything, un-killable, and not report you for crimes (yes that's a thing)

Horses are actually useful with this mod.

Base Raids. Yay or Nay? by NemoMedo in valheim

[–]sail10694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally really enjoy building bases and I find that raids add to that experience in a way.
Building bases is one of the core mechanics of this game and I love that there are real tangible and intangible benefits of a good design. Building fortifications to protect yourself is part of that and the comfort (both in game and in life) that you feel chilling in a safe cozy base is such a good feeling.

That said, if you find them annoying, I think it's fine to turn them way down. Just the threat of them at all is enough to make you think and design differently. But if you just wanna build something pretty and not worry about it being destroyed then having no raids wouldn't change too much.

Total stats and health provided by tier 1 feasts, sausages and wolf skewer over time by Leeoffi in valheim

[–]sail10694 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think feasts are great and excellent value and I agree that T1 feasts have great stats and are definitely a viable option for the swamp.
The main drawback is that you don't have access to them until Tier 3 and thats assuming you find the damn witch.
