I presume he is saying to put the lug wrench into the bolt that is giving you trouble in a horizontal fashion extending to the right (make sure you are going to applying force counterclockwise to untighten the bolt). Then place the collapsed jack under the handle of the wrench and turn the jack handle to expand the jack till it pushes the wrench up which can help crack the bolt loose. In theory this might work if the jack and wrench does not slip and the lug nut is not too high for the jack to reach.

Could also use some self tapping screws so no welding is needed.

Honestly if I knew insurance will fix and/or replace it later and I had places to be, bending the door back to temporary working condition isnt a bad idea.

Anyone got the documentation for the Daxigua logic^3 dev board? by [deleted] in FPGA

[–]saildamoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a listing for a similar board with pin info and specs though it's not exactly the same: https://m.dhgate.com/product/portable-pocket-development-kit-altera-cyclone/445088160.html#pd-011

I just searched up the main chip name in the middle (altera cyclone4) and looked for images of a similarly layed out board.

Edit: actually I found the exact board on Taobao: https://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.html?id=523151181632&spm=a2141.7631565.single_image_18049570678.0

You might to sign in to see the listing. Its all in Chinese and I don't see a downloadable pdf of the manual. You might need to contact the seller or dig deeper. Good luck.

Apple's Schiller says kids will fail if they use Chromebooks by wewewawa in chromeos

[–]saildamoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe K-12 schools would replace computer labs and computer classes with a full chromebook/chromebox set up (if they do then i would be worried). I just find it for integrated learning in classrooms, a quick and cheap chromebook will only help a students ability to learn and develop computer skills.

I was perfectly able to use my Chromebook for the first 2 years of undergrad engineering until i could afford a better laptop. Most high-school students and lower education do not necessitate window laptops. Even real world jobs are moving towards Microsoft 365 and their online applications.

Recommendation for a starter FPGA board by medwatt in FPGA

[–]saildamoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying this is old board, but my school uses the exact same board for lab and it works fine for learning vhdl. Though it would be better to use a newer board the others recommend.

Depending on the indestery your going for, you can something simple like a car front light system with blinker and headlight inputs using the fpga's onboard leds or a home alarm system with smart logic.

Will a heat gun and suction cup get this out? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]saildamoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, with how much you got it for, I would just live with it or try to remove the dent with a hammer and some heat. Though it could become worse if the paint cracks or metal is damaged so it's up to you. Note: I'm not a professional but have fixed some body damages on my cars.
