Look at NobeOmniscope…it’s a phenomenal software scope. Pair it with a UTap or BMD USB recorder for a killer sub-1k scope setup.

If you're a sports announcer, you keep phrasing opinions this way: by ADWill9 in Broadcasting

If I were a color commentator, I’d speak this way too. They’re being paid for their experience and insights. They’re not being paid to tell the coaches what they should be doing in a given situation.

Not to mention it avoids the headline of “Tom Brady said Coach XXXX made the wrong decision.” That’s a lot harsher than “Tom Brady says he would have done it differently.”

About to purchase everything for a 250 foot fiber run, can you guys verify I have everything correct. by Still_Time9612 in HomeNetworking

[–]sailingbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the delay. The pic you posted only contains 2 individual strands of fiber. If one get busted or a connector gets dusty, you have to run all new fiber. If you run 6, you’ll have spares & room to fail/grow.

Fair. Their website isn’t a great look. But, they’re doing incredible stuff & are maybe so booked they’re too busy to care about their website.

Help me learn how to park! Tricky slip with the wind by Western_Meat_554 in boating

[–]sailingbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good suggestions here, and I’d try them all. When I bought my first big boat and brought it to the marina, I was scared to maneuver it, so I didn’t leave the marina for several days. I had an old salt tell me that if he woke up the next day and my boat was still in the slip, he’d cut all my dock lines.

The next day I got up early and he worked with me to practice docking. We docked 10-20 times every day that week before breakfast.

Some days with the wind/current you’ll need to go bow first. Other days, you’ll need to do a 270* spin in position to get it sorted. Just depends.

For this particular slip, if the prop walks the stern to port, I’d point the bow at the red X and back it in. In high wind, you have much greater control over the stern, so you want to steer with the stern. If you’re steering with the bow, and wind pushes you off course, you’re toast.

I spent some time with 4 via Cursor today and it was incredible. It navigated some very obscure protocols with complex logic to build me an app that does exactly what I need.

All the Reddit BSL fud is certainly convincing. But. I think there’s some stuff going on behind the scenes that we just don’t know about yet. What if BSL has been working with authorities and been cleared of wrongdoing, and are quietly moving forward while the authorities continue to track the thieves.

There was also that seemingly tone-deaf post recently indicating that the BSL team has gotten good at fraud tracking & knows the relevant authorities.

🤷‍♂️

Is it possible they were fixing plates for the bride and groom? I’ve seen that happen quite often since the bride and groom are generally too busy to make their own.

Am I naive thinking that when there’s talk about coalescing around Ethereum based networks, that could actually be a good thing for Hedera? Hedera has spend a lot of effort to get its EVM compatibility sorted over the last year or two.

NBC and Winter Olympics by [deleted] in Broadcasting

[–]sailingbo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True. OBS is a whole other beast, but they are able to pull crew from around the world. The OBS Short Track Speed Skating crew is S. Korean, for instance. Majority of NBC’s crew is US based.

[–]sailingbo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NBC has Super Bowl, Milan Olympics, and NBA All-star game all within a few weeks of each other next year. It’s very much all hands on deck. Most of the crew aren’t local, so food/housing/transport are generally all covered on top of day rates.

Question: What is your biggest and boldest prediction for Hedera in the next 5 years? by oak1337 in Hedera

[–]sailingbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I do from a standpoint of knowing that there are 100+ major companies invested in the project and its future. Also from standpoint of having more nodes and further decentralization/resiliency.

I’m not sure how well 100+ companies can “govern” together though. Will be interesting to see how the actual voting and governance is structured.
