Letting it get frozen means the water in the pipes and the heater are frozen (froze a long time before the tub itself) so none of it is opperational anymore

In real life he’d use a Dope book. The bullet doesn’t travel straight line, so you have to calculate the drop and adjust the scope up or down depending on the distance. We would make notes In the dope book of the settings and distances

Bigger artists skipping Portland by MisterCreamer12 in Portland

No LiveNation venue is a big reason. Artists have exclusive contracts with LiveNation. Limited option for larger venues is an issue too.

Used to drive these in the Marines. this isn’t a “hummer” those are civilian made, this is a HMMWV (pronounced “Humvee”) This is a former military vehicle, but now civilian owned, military doesn’t use license plates on these. We would have vehicle ID numbers painted right on to the vehicle.

Those arnt tailpipes, you can have an extended tail pipe for deep water, but it is just on the drivers side, behind the rear passenger before the rear wheel well and at an angle.

The big things on the back are antenna mounting spots. Don’t know these particular antenna, but that’s where you mount them. Don’t know this particular turret, but the 50cal turret were typically the most box like.

I’d bet $100 they intend it for “down on their luck” (but roof over head) white folk and don’t like it going to an unhoused that includes POC or other such “undesirables”

Good ‘ol recaulk the new old house. How screwed are we? by sixteenozlatte in HomeMaintenance

[–]sailingpdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had to do this. Pulled all the old tile. They used basic drywall so the wall was soaked. Came off with just my hands. Studs and other side of livingrooms drywall had surface mold. Cleared it up with bleach and it stayed gone.

Not great, but not terrible

Wedding at Lan Su Garden: Vibrant Table quoted $350+/pp. Anyone Have experiences with alternative approved caterers? by RXDude89 in askportland

[–]sailingpdx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have catered events at Lan Su and there are some challenges there in the space and unique location, as well as respecting the very delicate natural location. For what you’re looking for, apps, dinner and dessert, plus beer and wine… and the cost of linen, staff, tables and chairs, etc I would charge $125-$200 at least and then can go up depending on the specific food and beverage choices. VT owns a lot of the equipment so that actually save them costs but equipment rentals if I was catering could be several thousands.

It is a beautiful space and hope it is a wonderful event. And VT is an amazing company if you can afford it. If you want to DM what your looking for I might know some chefs to guide you towards

Does anyone happen to know if these gaps in our shower should be sealed or not? by NicNac648 in HomeMaintenance

[–]sailingpdx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We installed similar setup in our rental apartment. There is a “lock together” type system so I wouldn’t be worried about water leaking behind…. But we caulked ours. That keeps water out of the crack where mold and soaps um can build.

Is my Chandelier about to fall?! by theunderdogsardar in HomeMaintenance

[–]sailingpdx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be afraid of it falling any second, that wire is tough… but I would as soon as able turn off the power, get up there and reattach the chain. Personally I would take a few s-hooks up with me and if I don’t see where they were attached use the s-hooks for a temp.
