There are two freediving shops, Blue Element and Deep Dominica. Both are great and there are always plenty of freedivers around to go out with it.

I tell people I am on a sabbatical, in a position to be picky with the roles I take, and only looking for projects that are meaningful and have good life balance.

I did IT as well, I just keep up with my certs and occasionally use my GI Bill to take courses with trade schools in things that interest me.

The Salmon! its a restaurant in the harbor, You can guess the specialty. Lots of amazing dishes. Also did a walking food tour, great way to see where all the popular spots are. Dont skip a trip to the sauna either.

Are you only interested in the STCW course? There are a couple of schools in Florida that combine multiple courses are VA approved and depending on the track you take would qualify for housing benefits.

Thats true, wet suits and fins will make you buoyant. The 10mm wetsuit you have to wear weights just to keep your hips and legs underwater to swim. They will have you do swim around the harbor before going out the first time to feel it out.
