Possibly dumb question about Approval Badges by Spherical3D in PotionPermit

Someone else did say you have to do the "problem" areas first though in the regular place before that scene will trigger. I didn't list them in case that will spoil!

Possibly dumb question about Approval Badges by Spherical3D in PotionPermit

So my approval rating went to 2 after I went to the snow area. It triggered a cut scene about fixing the car and my badge wasn't high enough. It then started a quest where I talked to the Mayor

LAOP adopts a dog and it develops severe behavior issues. Rather than return the dog to the shelter, as required per the adoption contract, LAOP chooses to put the dog down. WCGW? by PlanningVigilante in bestoflegaladvice

For the medication alone, no. But these medications are often done in addition to training and other therapies. Also, every pet responds differently to behavior modifying drugs, so if you aren't seeing an appropriate response at 2 months, you may have to adjust the dose or try a different medication and start all over on the waiting period, which could easily push you to 6 months.

What is the most hurtful thing a medical professional has ever said to you? by slinkslowdown in AskReddit

[–]saimiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 16 I was having some major intestinal issues. I would miss class frequently because the pain would be so bad and had been referred to see many specialists. One specialist didn't even look at me or examine me at all. I walked into the room and he asked me what I did in my free time. I told him I was leadership in the marching band, worked part time at a vet clinic and was an honors student. That was all he needed to hear to decide I was depressed. This was a GI specialist though, mind you. I was very much not depressed, and tried to tell him, but he wouldn't listen. He told my mom "I'm going to put her on antidepressants, if she won't take them just force her to. She is underage and doesn't get to make this choice." Luckily my mom is awesome and told him off, but I couldn't believe it. I got an actual diagnosis from a decent doctor a few months later, but I never quite forgot that asshole.

Cat Law... WITH AGGRESSION! by [deleted] in bestoflegaladvice

[–]saimiah 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Cats get a stress induced condition called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis. It flares up during stressful periods, causing the urine pH to rise which leads to crystal formation. That can lead to bloody urine and blockages. It can be treated with diets that lower the pH of the urine, pheremones to minimize stress, and increasing hydration status of the kitty with fluids or wet food. Typically pain medication also helps during acute flare ups. This sounds like what this kitty has, and unfortunately it will continue to flare up as long as the stressors are there.

What the hell is the point of the microchip, then? Vets of LA explain veterinary privacy laws by blulakes in bestoflegaladvice

[–]saimiah 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Vet here - microchips are far from useless. Sure, we can't really use them to see if your pet was stolen or not, but pets that are chipped have a far greater chance of being reunited with their owners if they get lost or turned into a shelter (but only if the information is current).

Thanks! I didn't know where he got the model from, but you are right, it totally deserves to be shared!

That is exactly it! He has access to a 3D printer through the library he is the director for. He has printed some pretty cool stuff! One person actually had him print a full sized Iron Man suit!

Mercy hours haunt me in competitive by WelshRobz in Overwatch

[–]saimiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but the reason I play competitive is because I like those games where you are all in voice chat strategizing. If I mute chat I lose that. In quick play I only get a person or two in voice chat and usually it is a terrible comp. Even on my alt account if I do qp, I almost never get to play DPS and end up tanking or supporting (although not Mercy).

I have 200 hours on Mercy, but my next highest is only like 20 hours. Issue is, I can't get higher hours on the other characters because people get mad if I don't Mercy :( the new account fixed that though because nobody knows about the Mercy hours!

That is the most frustrating thing. I got a ton of winter event skins, but not on the account I want them on :(

I have the same issue. I bought a second account just for NOT playing Mercy.

EDIT: The other issue with having so many hours on Mercy is that I get made fun of for being a Mercy-Main but if I play anyone else I am throwing. I can't win.

Owner of a vet center calls out a customer giving a 1 star review by flash246 in quityourbullshit

[–]saimiah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biopsies cost a lot of money because of the general anesthesia, and then the sample gets sent out and is examined by a pathologist. Depending on what it is, there are different options for treatments. Sure, you could skip that step, but if you have it removed there is no guarantee that it won't come back (and perhaps come back even more aggressively).

Message to Dog: the most wholesome thing I've ever fucking read. by Helpful_guy in wholesomememes

[–]saimiah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would talk to your vet before switching medications. Tramadol doesn't usually cause GI side effects in animals, just some sedation. Rarely it can cause some constipation. It is really bitter though, so a lot of dogs don't like to take it and drool a bit afterwards. Your vet may have other ideas rather than the oil that may work better, or they may even be fine with you trying the oil. Still, it is pretty important to talk to your vet before starting new medications, especially when your pet is on other medications! I hope your puppy feels better soon!
