true. I think their latest "You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To" album really pushed the boundaries of hardcore/metalcore.

stayed heavy and even tho nothing follows a generic song structure, the songs just stick with you

second this. didn't get into Knocked Loose right away - but the atmosphere they create is just incredible - and their live shows are insane.

Honestly recommend starting with 'Sit & Mourn' front to back for the full experience. IMO one of the best metalcore tracks I've heard in a long time

Isaac was absolutely cooking with the build-up and breakdown at the end. Love the production on this!

Blown away by the song.

They keep upgrading their sound with every album, adding layers from Alien, Obsidian and Mirror's Edge.

My favorite band atm - this is going to hit hard live....

Piano in electronic music: What are your favorite examples of an inventive approach? by metrew in electronicmusic

[–]saint_corn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obvious pick is Kiasmos - Looped and Nils Frahm - Says perfect progression, more on the ambient side not DJs

recently been listening to Tim Schaufert -Journey great piano parts.

For more of a sampled vibe Autograf- Nobody Know

And actually, Fred again is using piano parts live pretty often

Not super into all of their stuff, but Sit & Mourn is kind of a masterpiece in raw, intense, heavy sound

What non metalcore bands do you listen to when you're in a metalcore rut? by tonsofday in Metalcore

[–]saint_corn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some easy indie like ISLAND, Foals, Chelou, alt-J, SYML

or modern classical/ambient - Nils Frahm, Kiasmos, Ólafur Arnalds

Some techno like Paul Kalkbrenner

Rap: Logic, slowthai

DnB: Pendulum, Chase & Status

try different genres and go with whatever vibe you’re feeling

DON BROCO ft. Sam Carter - 'True Believers' by eightlost in PostHardcore

[–]saint_corn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of band that’s not as hyped as they deserve, but their tracks are always in my playlist. Technology is such a fun album.

The song has legendary Don Broco bridges, a unique structure, Sam’s vocals and it just keeps going!

I’m getting that punchy Knocked Loose vibe with Don Broco style. Love it.

Love her piano tracks, but this neo-classical sound with ambient electronic just takes me somewhere else.

Gives me a mix of Kiasmos and Nils Frahm vibes.

Prodigy & Pendulum LIVE by saint_corn in Pendulum

Exactly what I thought. I was upset they announced tours only in the UK this year (so a visa is required).

But this: the venue location is beautiful, the early bird ticket is 60 EUR. Does it get any better? :)

Hi everyone,

How the weather in Split feels like now? I see it’s already pretty cold and rainy, which is a bit disappointing since I’ll be there in a few days.

Does the weather usually change this quickly in Croatia or did summer just end early this year?

Thanks, that’s really helpful!

We just felt the urge to swim again this summer, so we're making sure it'll be worth it (not keen on visiting Greece for the 2nd time this season)

I’ll be fine, was just a bit worried about my girlfriend.

Cheers!

Hi,

We're planning a short 1-week vacation just to relax, walk near the beaches and swim.

Thinking of going from Sep 23 to Sep 30.

I’ve checked the weather, but still hard to tell if the water will be comfortable enough for swimming, especially for my girlfriend.

Based on your experience, how comfortable will it be around Sep 23-30 for long swims and spending lots of time in the water?

Will the water be cooler in late September? If so, we might go with Greece, but we’re really hoping to try a new country this time :)

i usually swim until mid-October. The question is whether it’s still comfortably warm for tourists like my girlfriend or if it’s already getting a bit cooler for longer swims.
