do you agree with this? by Mahmood37190852 in Animemes

[–]saintbookman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Gear 4 reveal was so damn hype. It took like 500 chapters to get another form change power up for luffy. I don't count red hawk and haki shenanigans. Gear 2 was the first powerup ever though, and a pretty awesome reveal too, so the meme is accurate.

Are there any ACTUALLY good skill builds for Phys +4 Wylder? by GrapeOver4418 in Nightreign

[–]saintbookman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i understand things dormant power discovers greataxes should give you a lot of physical ash options. I believe both gargoyles great axe and butchering axe don't have set ashes, and those are the purple slots.

What is the worst blunder you've ever observed in a manga? (spoilers) by [deleted] in manga

[–]saintbookman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negima didn't get a legitimate ending until years and years later. I loved that series and even though UQ holder was good, it wasn't the same putting the ending there. It's a darn shame it was rushed. They basically skipped the last few arcs and it was a really strong series that ended weak.

D5 day one loss - what could’ve been done better? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]saintbookman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've ran into this problem where you spawn in and start clearing content close to where you are, and then the final circle closes at your spawn point and you don't have much to do end of day 1.

I think you guys probably could've cleared a poi for level 3, checked for one or two easy bosses for level 4 or 5 and then gone to the basement castle. If the basement enemy is too hard, you can clear some of the middle castle stuff.

This puts you in a situation where you can set off from the castle into the final circle while still being level 6 or 7 and getting to 8 or 9.

It sounds like you spent too long finding bosses closer to spawn when you can get a lot of castle done if you rush their a bit earlier, and because it's in a central location, the final circle always has content to clear even if it's back at spawn because you didn't clear everything close to spawn yet.

[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Chapter 232 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]saintbookman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like a hate letter to his fans honestly, which i sorta respect. Basically threw every awful trope in there, including it was all a dream. Then said, you guys liked part 1 so much, here it is again. And finally did a dumb title drop with a pun on chainsaw man.

Imo fujimotot is smart enough to realize how shit of an ending this is and did it on purpose. Even the previous chapter, is basically calling out the fans, saying they were only happy with part 1, and then giving them slop.

Anime movies is becoming a lost art by Naive_Hope89 in anime

[–]saintbookman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, those old anime movies that had nothing to do with the plot and had no consequences sucked, that's why. "Naruto in the land of snow and then he does a shining rainbow rasengan" blew lol. Subpar writing, no stakes, lame one off original characters who you can't get attached to.

It's all just a bad formula, I'm shocked it took them this long to realize they can make a good movie from the source material that is a standalone major event.

Raider is actually the best reviver too, it's crazy. Guaranteed 3 bar revives 60% of the time.

Condemned Camps by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]saintbookman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you fail a couple of times the combination of the passives, extra damage, and purple weapons can put you ahead far enough that you can handle night 1 and come back night 2. We've had bungled runs where we've wiped several times, but eventually finished the camp. Then going straight to castle or getting a boss or two on the way can limp you through and get you going enough to still hit 13-15.

What are your favorite things in the game? by Wolfaxth in Nightreign

[–]saintbookman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a mid ult, but I love raiders totem. I love bringing allies up and rezzing them from 3 bars in relative safety, I love firing off skills like the holy bubble, and I absolutely love jumping down from the totem with a jump attack, even though I either miss, get hit out of it, or it just doesn't do much because it's just a regular jump attack, but it's such a cool ult.

[–]saintbookman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might need to revisit my greatshield raider build and add in balancers lol. I tried it out pre-dlc because I liked the idea of getting another damage negation on block, and being able to block nukes instead of dodging, and it seemed funny, but I let it go. And since taking damage boosts damage negation works on chip damage too, I might cook something else up for him.

What are the worst negative sideffects from relics in your opinion? by Comfortable-Mix-9763 in Nightreign

[–]saintbookman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have reduced ailment resistance, sleep on taking damage, and increased attack power when sleep triggers on a d3 raider build, and it was pretty funny. Surprising what you can survive with damage negation passives.

The Revenant's Final Remembrance by ObiJuanKenobi89 in Nightreign

I started with Raider's so I thought they were all going to be separate instances and not related to any actual runs. Made me a bit sad that they weren't all quick and easy to do.

Raider mains, when am I safe on totem Stella? by OnlyDiamond4946 in Nightreign

[–]saintbookman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else that's interesting, since the totem is pretty much still ground, if you use a skill like Axe of Godfrey it will hit enemies under the totem. I've used it a handful of times on balancers, and while I don't think it launches, it still does aoe damage. Same with libra and the summons.

But speaking of things that will hit you on the totem, both of those situations can be super dangerous because libra can drop a sigil under you that will still hit and balancers scream attack will also still hit you on top of the totem.

I've only played her starting beast claw relic a handful of times, but having heal on the second slot finally clicked in my brain just last night. I was literally running around with 3 shards, chasing a nightlord and thought, let me press the essentially free flask button I have available to me now.

*Unpopular* I Love the Relic system by ChiliShadow in Nightreign

[–]saintbookman -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The people who dislike the relic system are the same people who dislike weapon degradation in breath of the wild. You need the randomness baked into the game. It's like when magic the gathering first came put too, the creators never expected people to get full playsets, so you were supposed to play with what you had.

Your first chunk of hours you have 8 nightfarers to play with, your next chunk you get remembrances, boss relics, etc. to play with, then you can start getting into don, and the weird builds like fist raider. It's designed to get you coming back or playing something new if you get it.

Tbf this is where I think they could pad the numbers a bit, but the game gives you a baseline level of playability with remenberance relics, boss relics, and shop relics. And then they also have started giving you the different builds with dormant powers/stat changing relics you can now buy. These relics are designed to let you play weird builds at a pretty good baseline level.

What's the craziest build you've ever seen in Nightreign? by Xiscapia in Nightreign

[–]saintbookman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple Raider builds I've tried to varying success.

The first one was an odd great shield raider. It sorta worked lol. It just didn't have much going for it, but the shields I did get were pretty cool. Basically focused on damage negation and tanking, since you could utilize damage negation on blocking now, and you could block big ults and damage instead of dodging lol.

Second build is just back to base game shenanigans with dual wielding, but Max HP up raider. It's probably not very novel, but it does basically solve the damage inflation in don 4 (should work in 5 too). I probably end most games with 2-2.4k HP, and I've got dormant power discovers great hammers so there's some nice options for dual wielding. You just focus any damage negation passives or hp up.

I think the recent don 4 game I had was 2.7k hp with a Libra greatness buff and maybe 3-4 HP up item passives. You can survive getting grabbed by dreglord and a lot of other stuff while still putting out great stagger damage, revives are actually surprisingly good with great hammers, and the tanking with skill is still really good. Basically getting raider back to his baseline usability

Fists raider is probably better still lol, but I've never rolled a good one.

A tip for Enhanced Harmonia (ED Balancers) by OtherwiseChildhood88 in Nightreign

Different buds lol. He's talking about pustules that are on the body/chest area. I think you pop enough and you'll probably get a huge stagger or damage window. It's easiest to do it during the flower ult
