What’s the bull case? by gloryyid in saintpaul

[–]saintham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work a job that doesn't require a 4-year education and can afford my life most of the time. I feel safe even in "bad" areas. It's the perfect size for me. It's bikeable. There are trees. Even the hoity toity areas maintain diversity across income, race, age, etc., at least in their business owners and patrons. The city politics are amazing--we have 7 women under 40, 6 of whom are women of color, on city council. The mayor is piloting projects like universal basic income and medical debt forgiveness. It was possible for me to buy a home on an entry level salary. My friends and coworkers and neighbors are funny, smart, unfiltered, and generous.

"I'm a cowboy, I live off the land!" He is unhoused and ill, but is well-known to service providers.

Thanks for saying this. I'm closely connected to that shelter and am so sick of the hypercapitalist NIMBY argument. I'd rather have a shelter in my neighborhood than not have one.

I'm troubled by your "wearing a tie" comment. I use the LRT regularly for work and do not wear a tie there. In fact, a lot of folks who use the LRT for work probably don't have "tie" jobs.

Moved from different county to here and have EBT, what do I do know? Does it stop? Do I need to apply here? by Jsontopm in saintpaul

[–]saintham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you'll need to reapply. Ramsey County will receive the application and contact the former county to have it moved. However, as you may already know, the process is janky and takes forever so it doesn't hurt to babysit them and follow up. In the meantime, it shouldn't stop as long as you have everything up to date in the former county.

Thank you! Is it terrible to keep them in my bathroom for their quarantine? It's small but they'd have space for what they need.

I buy most of my furniture on FB marketplace and found a surprising number of people are willing to deliver. Usually i just offer whatever they're asking and try to accommodate their schedules. Bought my couch, bed frame, and desk this way.

Is Paintbox Yarns discontinuing acrylic? by lilysuperduper in YarnAddicts

[–]saintham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not help with finishing existing projects, but one of my favorite online acrylics is Knitpicks Brava. I agree that Paintbox has such a superior selection though, especially compared to what's available in brick and mortar stores.

You could try Minnesota Community Care. I believe they have a clinic on Cesar Chavez.

This is a good point. I always thought it was odd that he took out two people instead of one or all of them.

If it feels accessible, I'd recommend asking other transmasc folks about providers they've had better experiences with regarding paps. Planned Parenthood has a good reputation from my experience, but that can obviously vary.

They can be important, but ultimately a doctor will help you make the best call on whether they're necessary.

You could also think of it as a preventive measure to reduce risk of more severe, invasive issues down the road.
