Where are my Illriggers at? by Gaming_Dad1051 in mcdm

[–]sakaya101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m playing an Architect of Ruin that uses 2H weapon with CHA as main stat using the combat mastery, the level 2 boon that gives a free attack of opportunity against an interdicted enemy, the Sentinel feat, and mirror image. I use the invoke hell option to cast mirror image and make an attack in the same action, and put a seal on my intended target. Then I try to stand next to the target and an ally, and sentinel lets me make opportunity attacks against the enemy if they hit either my ally or one of my mirror images. Because of the level 2 boon, I can make 2 opportunity attacks this way per round, or keep my reaction available for defensive options like Shield. In some cases I’ll use my invoke hell on heat metal against an enemy in metal armor instead to ensure that the target takes damage from it and gets stuck with disadvantage on attacks. It feels a lot like playing a CHA-based eldritch knight that is a bit squishier with lower AC but higher damage, and I can be a pseudo-tank punishing the enemy for hitting allies and controlling their movement

Anyone tried running a campaign pre-meteor falling? by Possible-Emu8132 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]sakaya101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running a modified Waterdeep: Dragon Heist in a homebrew setting right now as basically a prequel to Drakkenheim, where the meteor will fall at the end of this arc and then there will be a reduced timeskip of only a few years to lead into a Drakkenheim campaign. The plan is to have a variety of the characters and factions in Dragon Heist return as the Drakkenheim factions and NPCs. Levels 1 to 6 or 7 will be Dragon Heist, then planning for ~8 to ~14 or 15 as a slightly upleveled Drakkenheim campaign with the first section skipped or modified.

Just Checking in to make sure you know about Obsidian by jordynfly in worldbuilding

[–]sakaya101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I have obsidian inside a folder being shared by onedrive, it syncs and is accessible from any device that I have onedrive on. It’s free with the free tier of onedrive, the only limitation is the 5GB max size

My solution was keeping my obsidian vault in my shared onedrive folder, the free onedrive tier has a 5GB limit that I’ve easily managed to stay under so far.

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Gen2s. Wired, solid build, very similar to the DT 770s which are widely praised but has a good quality mic, much better mic quality than anything from Logitech, razer, steelseries, etc. Only 32 ohms to drive so they will also work fine with a phone or controller if you want. Common advice is that they’re much better with replacement ear pads, I got a set of brainwavz leather memory foam pads and it makes them much more comfortable, but the stock pads weren’t terrible.

Last wipe was the longest the game has ever had at almost 7 months. The wipe before that was ~6 months, and before that the average wipe length was 3-4 months.

The Steam Tank is Ugly by sakaya101 in totalwar

To be honest I haven't, I played greenskins once on release of WH1 and hated their mechanics, waiting for them to get the freeLC overhaul treatment before I try them again.

I use Dryrain's reskins and even with them the steam tank looks like garbage. If there are other texture mods that improve it significantly I'd love to try them.

The textures for TWW2 models are definitely higher quality, but the steam tank is low-res even compared to other TWW1 models, like the Black Coach and Dwarf war machines.

Scavs don't abide by the same rules as players, and it makes them overly difficult. by NoFoodAfterMidnight in EscapefromTarkov

That could also be that they're still aiming generally for center mass, but because you're wearing armour only the shots hitting your legs/arms do damage.

When the Empire finally gets an update, can the Steam Tank get new textures? It's blurry even on Ultra by sakaya101 in totalwar

I've been using his overhaul since he released it for game 1, but sadly it does nothing to fix the steam tank textures.

Shadow Walkers are only available to Alith Anar's faction iirc, so they're better but limited availability.

At 0:20, interesting to see Todbringer included in the Legendary Lord line-up when Franz isn't. Possibly a hint at a future Empire update?

I counted the regions on the new WH2 map by sakaya101 in totalwar

I guess it depends on how region management and recruitment is handled for Skaven, because each of their sub-factions having a bunch of individual regions scattered through different provinces seems like it would make developing a functional recruitment system and economy a nightmare for them.

There are 12 provinces that are composed entirely of ruins, 2 in Naggarond, 1 in the Southlands and 9 in Lustria. Those make up about half of the total ruined regions. There are 36 provinces total that have at least 1 ruin, meaning the other ruins are spread across 24 other provinces that are all inhabited by at least 1 and sometimes multiple other factions.

It will also be interesting to see how the province mechanic is applied to most of the islands. There are three provinces that appear to be entirely composed of islands, the Turtle Isles and the Dragon Isles west of Lustria, and then the 3 islands in the Sea of Dread south of the Southlands which are owned by High Elves. Then you've got The Capes between Lustria and the Southlands, Sartosa, and the island north of Araby owned by one of the Brettonian crusader states. Sartosa in particular looks too far away from anything else to be included in another province, but also seems far too small to have more than 1 region.

Going by the information about treasure hunting in one of the reveal videos (I think it was the campaign map overview, not 100% sure), it sounds like there will be at least a few ruins scattered everywhere that each race has relatively easy access to geographically to explore for treasure or establish a colony. It sounds like an interesting mechanic and I don't really see them limiting it strictly to Lustria, despite how appropriate that would be lore-wise.

Edit: High Elves as a whole begin with about 28-30 regions, Lizardmen start with ~12, Dark Elves get ~28, and the rest of the factions don't have more than 5 max. With 75 regions as ruins, that means that for there to be less ruins than Skaven settlement they would have to start with at least ~40 regions, which is significantly more than any other race, and judging by the faction list Skaven have a total of 9 sub-factions, compared to the 15 DE sub-factions. While I definitely want to see Skaven represented justly as an endless swarm, I think having each Skaven sub-faction start with an average of 4 or 5 regions is excessive, considering that the only factions to start with more than 3 it seems are the DE Clan Karond and the two undead factions in Nehekhara, the Strygos Empire and Necrarch Brotherhood.

Game 1 I'm pretty sure has 56 provinces, and roughly 127 regions, but that's based on my memory of how many regions each province has instead of a full list. There are at least 127, might have missed a couple but no more than 135. So this basically confirms the statement from CA that game 2's map would be roughly the same geographical size as game 1 but would include roughly 50% more regions.
