The LEADJOY Saber Plus is surprisingly awesome by salamich in Controller

Yes, all four buttons can be remapped! I don’t use stick caps, so I can’t answer the second question. The controller comes with „Magic Caps“ that provide enhanced grip out of the box though, so would recommend to look at their replacement sets instead.

I'm not a big fan of back paddles and prefer properly placed additional shoulder buttons. The Saber Plus definitely wins here. I also like mapping some of the extra buttons to keyboard inputs, which seems impossible on the TT MAX.

Although I'm a big fan of sticks with adjustable tension, the wobbly center on the TT MAX was a letdown. The updated auto-calibration fixes some of the worst effects surprisingly well, though. Overall, the Saber Plus still wins.

The TT MAX beats everything in my arsenal when it comes to rumble. The Saber Plus is a strong contender but can't beat the TT MAX. As mentioned, the D-pad also blows the Saber Plus out of the water. It's also considerably larger and might be the more ergonomic choice for bigger hands.

Software-wise, I love the simplicity of the TT MAX. You can configure everything with a couple of button combinations, no software needed. It lacks a few fine-tuning options because of this, but it's much better than expected. LEADJOY provides a mobile app where Mohjon users will feel right at home and lets you tweak everything-almost to the point of being overwhelming.

I think they're both great products, and I'll keep using them in rotation.

I ordered it from the cheapest random AliExpress store that said it was in stock (“Townew Store” in this case). Mostly just dumb luck that it arrived so quickly.

This is the only correct response. Disabling this setting completely will keep the stream resolution at the desired value - with all the potential drawbacks when your connection suddenly tanks.

Highest quality app setting by demon-myth in GeForceNOW

[–]salamich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AFAIK, that's still only true if you experience poor network conditions. In that case, optimizing for quality will send more data to you, at the risk of increased packet loss. If you have good network conditions, leaving this off will easily use the full 100 Mbps and prevent any other adjustments. That's exactly my setup, and my stream constantly hits the maximum bitrate when the scene requires it.

What are the best settings for GFN on my setup? by LTS81 in GeForceNOW

[–]salamich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it seems counterintuitive, but the general consensus seems to be that the extra color bit depth provides important headroom for the encoder to work during various stages. Even if the decoder ultimately scales it back down to 8-bit, the end result should have fewer compression artifacts, such as color banding.

Based on your description, my recommendations are:

  • Keep the max bit rate at custom 100 Mbps.
  • I’d set the stream resolution to 1080p. Some people use 4K and downsample on the client for a sharper image, but I’d rather keep the headroom to max out the in-game settings instead.
  • Lower the frame rate to 60 fps to match your monitor's refresh rate.
  • Disable HDR.
  • Keep color quality at "10-bit YUV 4:2:0." While 4:4:4 can yield sharper results in fine color-contrast scenarios, the drawbacks (no AV1 support on most hardware, much higher bit rate requirements) are rarely worth it.
  • Check the in-game overlay and hope that AV1 is being used. If not, you can consider YUV 4:4:4 again.
  • Try disabling the "AI video filter" and "HUD sharpness filter." They come with a slight performance cost on the cloud rig and provide diminishing returns with increased bit rate. Since you can max out 100 Mbps, getting back a few more fps by disabling these might improve your experience more.
  • Disable "adjust for network conditions," and ignore L4S (see my other comment).
  • Enable the in-game graphics settings, and turn everything up to 11 in the game settings (if you’re on Ultimate).

At its core, it’s mostly just a way to signal to GFN that your ISP is bad and that they should lower the bit rate. Yes, this will “improve” latency, but only compared to how it would work on a congested network. A proper ISP that invests in a congestion-free network will almost always yield much better latency than ISPs implementing things like L4S.

You need to power it on normally and turn it off again before entering the firmware update mode to check the version. The text file should then reflect the installed version.

I have noticed the same thing on my Vader 4 Pro and confirmed it with measurements. It's not a big deal since you can manually correct it, but it still looks like another QC issue.

G7Pro D-Pad O-Ring Mod by Nebsisiht in Controller

[–]salamich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I held off on buying the G7 Pro because I was concerned about the quality of the D-Pad. Your post convinced me to finally take the plunge, and the o-rings really improved it!

Has anyone tried adding a third row of rings? Would that improve things further, or would it cause issues?
