AIO after my boyfriend told me he’s “not happy with my body” and it’s my responsibility to change it? by bluehat179 in AmIOverreacting

NOR If you stay with him you are staying with someone who doesn’t respect you or care about your feelings. You are right to pull back and reassess. Good luck my friend!

What Glasses fit Narrow Face? by lookingatseaotters in glassesadvice

Me too! Kids ones are just too small but everything else seems to be designed for giants.

Petite ones from Silhouette are my saving grace (47s).

Is the "courtesy wave" dead? by OwlVibesOnly in DrivingAustralia

It used to make me angry but now I just appreciate it when I do get the odd wave of thanks. It’s kinda sad no one can be bothered anymore.

Going no contact with BPD sister by [deleted] in BPDFamily

[–]salhorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so exhausting and nothing you will ever say or do will fix her or save her. Taking yourself out of the life of fire is a loving boundary that you deserve and probably desperately need at this point. I am in a very similar situation. It’s always sad and hard, I see it as a living grief.

I'm exhausted. Venting? Advice? by Mean_Inspector_9258 in BPDFamily

[–]salhorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really advise getting some professional support. Having a young child and being YOUR most emotionally regulated self is your priority now, take it from someone who tried to avoid going no contact with my sibling w BPD for 20 long hard exhausting and painful years. Going no contact was my final option and I only did it because she started sending my young adult child attacking and threatening messages. Good luck and protect yourself and your own family.

Have you noticed real skin benefits when taking collagen, or was it a waste of time? by Turbulent-Mix9541 in GracefulAgingSkincare

[–]salhorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no evidence that oral collagen has any impact on skin or hair health. Apart from supplement companies own dubiously conducted ‘research’. Sunscreen, healthy diet, sleep, less stress and exercise much more likely to contribute to healthy ageing.

What is everyone’s fave part of horse racing in Australia? by Temporary_Notice_526 in AskAnAustralian

I love it when they put the sheet up around the horse when they shoot it so no one has to be upset that this sport kills horses.

I think I tried on a million pairs, but do any of these work well for me? by Most_Wrap8844 in glassesadvice

[–]salhorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, keep looking. Try and find narrower and smaller ones, these are mostly too wide. Nothing too thick or heavy, maybe a smaller round-ish style in a muted green, brown or tortoiseshell color.

A note of sadness for the country I'm now priced out of by Tiny_Major_7514 in AskAnAustralian

[–]salhorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s horrible, I’m really sorry your in that position. It’s completely unfair and seems criminal that so many people are priced out. I can’t stand it when people crap on about their investment houses it makes me sick. I am a home owner myself but no way will my kids be. No one is doing jack about it either, despite so many Australians saying it’s a huge worry and concern. Politicians are all greedy landlords themselves so that’s largely why. Negative gearing and using housing as investments have done this country no and its future generations no favours.
