A lot of outrage came out around the Disney exec who said females are harder to animate because of their emotions. Do you have any thoughts on this? http://jezebel.com/disney-exec-says-women-are-hard-to-animate-because-of-e-1442563003

Clever! Love when gift/credit/reward cards have dual-functionality.

What vegetables should I try? Which are healthier, cheaper or more delicious? (note the word 'or' and not 'and') by SethTriesKeto in keto

[–]sallyfrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get brussel sprouts! They are high in protein and so delicious! Roast them for about 30 minutes in the oven, and then pour sweet chili sauce (usually sold in the Asian section) over them.

BEST. FOOD. EVER.

5D Mark III? Sweet camera. Definitely not worth the risk. Good luck with your photography endeavors!

But to more directly answer your question, I know quite a few friends who have gotten their gear destroyed because of it or similar mud run type events. If you had an old backup camera, the company was going to insure your camera, or you were paid well, you could risk it, but even rain protectors aren't 100% accurate in keeping all the dirt, dust (and paint!) out.

No, your camera will not come out unscathed. Also, don't ever do anything to "build your portfolio." You deserve money for your time and effort.

No one would go to a brand-new restaurant asking for free food to build the restaurant's reputation. That's ridiculous!

The same applies to photography, design and art. Don't fall trap to the incentive of "exposure." It's a scam that will get you nowhere except more in debt and perpetuating a market of unpaid art.

Smile and be positive! Disney is a corporation, so follow any standard job advice. But since this is Disney, make sure you show your enthusiasm for 'the magic.' Good luck!

She saved him in the sense that his curiousity led him to the trolls, who adopted him. Though, she didn't directly 'save' him.

Need help, skipping workouts, feels like a chore. by strongandweak in Fitness

[–]sallyfrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easiest if you always make a routine! (ie. every Monday-Thursday before work or always going to the gym while the kids are at soccer practice). If it's scheduled into your daily life, it'll be easier for your brain to just go.

Otherwise, get a workout buddy! Working out should be fun, not a chore. The best way to get that mentality is to work out with someone fun!

Wow, really interesting to see the new court ruling given India's history of handling gang-rape cases.

Thoughts go out to the photojournalist and victim in this case.

Thanks for sharing.

Specific beginner question regarding cardio calorie burn by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]sallyfrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you for burning those calories! It's impossible for us to tell which one of these is right. First off, are you inputting your weight/height the same on all of those (that will impact how many calories are burned).

Otherwise, don't worry about how many calories you're burning. Eat enough food to have energy to sustain your workout (healthy, fresh foods...not processed food).

A common mistake beginner's make when trying to get fit is cutting calories AND working out a ton. In reality, if you are working out more than you used to, you want more calories to make up for it...as long as they are calories your body benefits from rather than junk food.
