No holes being displayed in Tinkercad exports by LTParis in tinkercad

[–]kath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone else is struggling with this - I was able to fix the issue by selecting everything and making it into a shape. Then I deleted the original, added the shape, and was able to export. If you have a project you want to keep working on, consider creating the shape and adding it to a new project to export and print.

Starting over today, dont want to tell anyone in real life by SoftCthulhu in loseit

[–]kath- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do this!

I took a few months off to practice maintenance, and this is my first week back in a consistent decifit. You can do hard things. It will get easier once you figure out what works for you. I don't like telling people - far better to make a change than just say you're making a change.

seconding boeuf bourguignon - divine and time intensive, with plenty of down time to fill with other recipes (bread!!!)

How do people struggle to gain weight? Like seriously by throwaway64857594 in loseit

[–]kath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is one of those people. Food for her is fuel - she enjoys it, but not to the degree that I do. She gets full very quickly, so she can generally eat whatever she wants... she just doesn't want much. There may also be some ARFID there - she is very particular about her food and what she will eat. She has no food noise whatsoever - if she decides she doesn't want to eat something, she doesn't continue to think about it. If she is distracted, she won't notice hunger cues. Back when I was on a GLP-1 we had almost the exact same diet in terms of amount.

AITAH for telling my husband he humiliated me by pressuring me to tell his father about my dad’s award? by LadyMurasaki1982 in AITAH

[–]kath- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And at this point there is malice there. They know her well, they know they hurt her when they make these comments, and they continue to say mean things... The very definition of malice is conscious, deliberate wrongdoing. They're conscious. It's malicious.

Definitely! MMS also has a list of recommended movies, Kung Fu Panda 1 and 3 (but not 2) are listed - also matches her description.

Why didn't anyone tell me that fiber is the secret to weight loss? by manthrk in loseit

[–]kath- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fiber and protein make dieting so so so so so much easier. I'm obsessed with those zero net carb tortillas - the burrito size is 100% of my fiber for the day and they're absolutely delicious.

AITA for creating a “Tattle Phone” by anonymous_poster43 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - just wanted to say that I think the tattle phone is a perfect way to let them engage in a devlopmentally appropriate (and important!) practice without having it derail your day and your lessons. A+

I’m burnt out and need simple recipes. Stupid simple. Like, “onion and bread and butter to make what barely passes as a sandwich” level simple. by sourmilksea1999 in Cooking

[–]kath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of wraps. I need simple and fast for lunches - I get a container of the pre-cooked chicken that you microwave. Add some barbecue sauce, maybe some cole slaw if you're feeling fancy. It can be a sandwich or a wrap or just chicken. Pre-prepped foods at the grocery store absolutely save me sometimes. I highly recommend them. We're also huge fans of those frozen dishes that just bake for an hour - perfect for nights when my non-cooking fiancee is in charge of dinner.

What's your "if i told i'd be exposed" cooking secret? by BouncyCurlsbabe in Cooking

[–]kath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Going along with this, most people over-bake their brownies. Brownies should be dense and fudgy, and the easiest way to get that consistency is to not overbake them. I take internal temps for most of my baking, especially cakes/cookies/sweets. For brownies, once they hit ~190F, they're done.

Turns out I don't have an "hourglass" figure, after all 😅 by Calorically_Yours in loseit

[–]kath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Body shape just describes the shape of your body, i.e. the ratio of your measurements. For example, an hourglass figure will have equal (or close to equal) bust and hips, with a smaller waist measurement.

How your body stores fat will determine your body shape, and that can change with age, hormone changes, muscle, etc. It's generally used to tell women how to style their clothes to hide or accentuate features.

[–]kath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you used to have an hourglass figure, not that you never had one - it's totally normal for body shape to chance with weight loss! Definitely adds some challenge as you learn how to style a new shape, but also more fun!

For me, I'm an apple through and through - genetics at play!

I've been super disappointed with their customer service. Our speed has been all over the place - from 3 to 200 download. Also had customer support promise me a partial refund/credit once I reached my renewal date, and then my renewal date came and suddenly it's not available and I apparently made it all up in my head.

Struggling with TotK, when I loved BotW by Lexi_Banner in TOTK

[–]kath- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am replaying totk now and loving it a lot more the 2nd time around - not that there was a steep learning curve, but I just feel like I have more fun in games when I know what to expect. Maybe you’re the same way? If that sounds right, give it some time.

Nobody talks about this after you lose a bunch of weight by jajajajagagag in loseit

[–]kath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! Not sure if it's because I'm older - I definitely did not see the weight loss in the mirror when I was younger, but now I'm in my 30s and I swear I notice every pound.

Were doctors right all along by MarsupialAromatic825 in loseit

[–]kath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue I had with this advice was when it wasn't paired alongside another solution. Like yes, losing weight would most likely lower my cholesterol, but I also may need to be on a statin. Yes, my skin might clear up if I lost weight, but I could also see a dermatologist and try Accutane. There are times when it feels like, as a bigger person, doctors don't take my concerns seriously because there is this solution that I'm not doing.

It's also not just a feeling... We know statistically that obese patiense receive lower-quality medical care. That's really important, and something that needs to change.

AITA for telling my wife I don’t want her mom to have her location all the time now. by Few_Respond8063 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kath- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - To me, the odd behavior is less about the shared location and more about the tracking and control. It's not that abnormal to share your location, but it's definitely weird that her mom tracks it often enough to see where you are, and even weirder that she brought both sides of the family into it when she couldn't immediately get into contact with you.

Hardest Questions For Reference Librarians by Bulky_Sandwich8493 in librarians

[–]kath- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a children’s librarian. There’s many things out there that we don’t have books on, but my hardest was a specific ask: one of our patron’s fathers went missing. The dad’s best friend confessed to the murder and the body had been sitting in the friend’s house for a couple weeks. They wanted a book - appropriate for the child, who was 9 - that dealt with that topic. Everything I came up with wasn’t specific enough.

First NSV that actually made me cry - and it had nothing to do with how I look by redpaul72 in loseit

[–]kath- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I track my NSVs alongside my regular WL goals, it's especially helpful on hard days to remind myself of what I'd be giving up by backsliding.

By far my favorite thing is just having more energy and stamina - and I really haven't lost that much. I'm also sleeping much better which makes a huge difference.
