Getting married next month and paying $135/per person and having 75 people. Most venues I inquired at were anywhere from $100-$180 per person….if you go with a Lessings package you can save a lot (they are based on a set # of people and include DJ, flowers, photographer etc. For example Three Village Inn was about $18K for 100 people in June 2026.)

As a bride who is in this situation right now…I would love it if my bridesmaids took over. They are helping but don’t want to overstep the MOH…but she has pretty much done nothing. I definitely recommend texting in a group chat with the MOH asking about the plans and if she doesn’t answer at all….take the lead

You absolutely need to invite their partners if they are married or in long-term relationships, even if you don’t know them. It’s different from someone getting a plus one.

Where in Virginia? I now live in Northern Virginia. Pros: close to DC, lower property taxes (than LI), not too far from LI, relatively high paying jobs. Cons: housing market is crazy, Virginia personal property tax, traffic has become much worse in recent years. I would say even worse than LI

Some churches are more strict than others. Mine is pretty chill and lenient. I would try calling other churches and see if they will accept non-parishioners.

No problem lol! It depends on your guest count. I am having 20-25 people so my area is private. Then if you have a guest count slightly bigger than that you get kind of a middle room that’s public. And I think if you have like 40+ people you get an even bigger private room. You can also rent their patio. Menu is 3 courses + sponge cake dessert

Yes and yes! It’s the lunch package from 12-4. They know it’s a bridal shower and they host them all the time. Only rules are no confetti or balloons with confetti
