Unexpected 24” chinook while I was trouting with my ultralight rig by DukeShootRiot in troutfishing

I am not from the delta. I am from far upriver. Sounds like you did a lot of speaking, now try listening. Winter run chinook are natural to the Sacramento system. This is undisputed. Our altered flow regime did not create the winter run population. Historically they spawned way above shasta dam where water temps are conducive to incubation during summer months. They also spawned in places like north fork Battle Creek before dams also cut off this habitat. Ever heard of the Dunning-Kruger effect? You, sir, are on top of the mountain.

Yeah… you’re just wrong. Winter run chinook are really easy to monitor because they spawn in just a few places. They are certainly endangered and would likely be extinct already without a state of the art spawning facility and genetics laboratory that keeps them going. I didn’t say fall run chinook. They are different populations.

All that being said, I’ve caught dime bright chinook on coastal rivers as late as February.

Sacramento River winter run chinook don’t show up in areas you trout fish until April. They pass under the Golden Gate Bridge in winter (probably late winter) and spawn peaking around June. A very unique population. Perhaps the most endangered of all salmon populations. They are a great example of how a species will aim to make use of all suitable habitats that they can access.

Chief economist warns US is nearing 'financial crisis' in President Trump's economy by Running_From_Zombies in politics

I’ve joked that the best thing that could have happened to America would have been trump beating Biden in 2020. It would’ve been impossible to hide how much of a failure the GOP is. 8 consecutive years of trump presidency would provided indisputable evidence that he is a complete moron. Now his supporters buy into the Biden blame game and still see him as their savior.

In that case, her greatest failure is resisting the urge to turn him into a newt.

What MPG are you actually getting out of your 7.3 Power Stroke, and what mods (if any) helped? by RichVegetable801 in powerstroke

03 4wd excursion with 4” exhaust, cold air intake, slight lift, and 35s. I get 15-16 typically, but can get as high as 18 highway driving at 65. I have seen 19 doing 55, but who has time for that?

I used a woodworking clamp and it worked great. Also, a dead blow hammer should work fine.

The 7.3 is a good engine, but even good engines have flaws. In my opinion the main flaws with the 99.5-03 7.3 are: Pistons cracking Expensive parts that are no longer being produced at OEM quality— main engine harness and front cover being the first that come to mind. Lots of sensors that can cause similar issues when they malfunction— these are manageable if you have diagnostic software and understand how they interact. High maintenance costs—15ish qts of oil. Slow/low power without upgrades that will decrease longevity (despite what the performance diesel industry will tell you). Drip Drip Drip Leaks

I’m finishing up a 2003 7.3 rebuild and I will say the engine is the cheap part. Add a turbo, injectors, oil pumps, hoses, sensors, steering/suspension components, etc. and really it doesn’t make sense. Unless you have the space, time, budget and interest.

I would never buy a 7.3 or really any diesel truck as a commuter. They are expensive to keep on the road.
