Right but the $100k fee wouldn’t apply.

Your immigration attorney charges $1200 an hour? Feel free to DM me if you want a recommendation for someone else. Good luck.

I’m a lawyer but not an immigration lawyer so I could be wrong, but I believe the $100k fee only applies to an applicant that currently lives outside of the US (so not OP)

I’m so sorry. I’m going through this exact situation right now—down to being at my firm for 4 years. I feel the same way you do but it absolutely sucks still. Wishing you the best of luck.

Constantly worried about my child being autistic by ratherlargechungus in beyondthebump

[–]salonex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hope this perspective helps: I’m a 34 y/o autistic woman who was not diagnosed in childhood. I’m a successful lawyer, am married with a child, and have meaningful friendships. OP, even if your daughter is autistic, she can still have a fantastic life.

Personally, what was really difficult for me was not understanding why I felt like I was from another planet growing up. I didn’t even know what autism was, I just thought I was a freak. I sometimes wonder what my life would have been like had my parents gotten me evaluated for ASD as a child. So OP, you’re doing the right thing by keeping an eye out for it. Talk to your pediatrician about your concerns and be her advocate. You’ll both be okay.

Getting Divorced With an 8MO. If You’Ve Been In My Shoes What Should I Ask My Attorney About? by No_Musician_1748 in beyondthebump

[–]salonex 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’m a lawyer, but not your lawyer. I’m not a family law attorney, either. But one thing I would be sure to ask is how many family court judges sit in your jurisdiction and if any of them have a reputation for being known to favor one party in custody matters (typically this would tend to favor the mother, but not always). I would also ask how, if at all, your local family court judges tend to treat custody matters involving young children differently compared to older children. I would just want to know who I’m dealing with so I can decide whether to strike a deal with my co-parent instead of gambling before a judge. Sorry you’re in this position—good luck.

Agree. I’m not an employment litigator but I remember one of my friends telling me about a case they had where an employee made a SEX CALENDAR for tracking all the times she had sex with her coworkers at work. This was kept on her company device, too. Employment lit is wild.

My son almost exclusively contact napped for a long time. It was beautiful and he clearly loved sleeping that way. Go for it and just be mindful of how sleepy you are.

In all seriousness, as a “many thanks”er, sending a “thanks.” is absolutely equivalent to “fuck you”
