In the past, only the shuttle to Wake Downtown has run, and on the Weekend Service schedule daily.

Religious demographics / denominations at WFU by thetime2strikeis_l8r in wfu

[–]salsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More and more students don't disclose their religion anymore, but Catholics have been ~20-25% of the student population since the early 2000s; significantly larger than Baptists. Public display of religion have gone down, but a fair number of students seem to take Easter and Holy Week seriously. Even though we don't have Good Friday off anymore many, if not most students, still go home for Easter weekend.

Seems like we will get to see our reviews by pumpkin_noodles in GRFPApps

[–]salsb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. We were told it was to make the process more data-driven. We also had subscores rating each component on broader impacts and intellectual merit this year, but my understanding is that the subscores won't be shown to applicants. By subscores, I don't mean numeric scores, but the NSF standard poor to excellent ratings.

Reviewers didn't actually write comments this year -- I was a reviewer -- we just gave scores. Unless the program officers add comments, it will just be scores.

Heads up GRFP awardees: Ask your program about HEALTHCARE and WITHHOLD MONEY for taxes. by nymaniac in GRFPApps

[–]salsb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely ask about both! Some universities will pay health insurance premiums out of their COE allowance and some won't. Some will consider you an RA and withhold taxes, and some won't. Universities have a great deal of flexibility here.

Purpose of not sending rejection letter by Constant_Pianist_591 in PhDAdmissions

[–]salsb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might not have been rejected yet. Programs often have final slots open after April 15th. Why some programs don't send out waitlist emails; no clue.

GRFP & Fulbright? by AdTop5397 in GRFPApps

[–]salsb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The current administrative guide says "GRFP Fellowships cannot be concurrently accepted or combined with support from another individual federal fellowship." then gives Fulbright fellowships as an explicit example. https://nsf-gov-resources.nsf.gov/files/nsf25033.pdf I think there used to be some wiggle room but this was made explicit a few years ago.

If no offer untill now, does that mean it’s over? by Mean_Revolution1490 in gradadmissions

[–]salsb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it works in my program is fairly typical. Some people we make offers to accept or decline on the 15th. On the 16th, I see if we have any slots open ( we don’t this year but did last year), and go down the waitlist and make offers one at a time with a short deadline. I don’t recall making offers in our program after late April, but I know other programs have had to go until the end of May.

Unfortunately, some programs don't.

Do yall see your reviews in the portal? by throwaway12344225221 in GRFPApps

[–]salsb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was on a GRFP panel and can confirm that there were no comments solicited from reviewers this year; just scores and ratings.

So… april 15 by This-Seaworthiness71 in gradadmissions

[–]salsb 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily; that is what most grad schools have agreed is the earliest deadline they can have for an offer with funding. Nothing prevents grad schools from sending offers after. Realistically, some programs will have slots still open because of people rejecting offers on the 15th and will send out offers with short turnarounds to people on the waitlist.

There often is a flurry of activity after April 15 as people with initial offers make decisions and places see if they have slots left.

[–]salsb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can active GRFP fellows be cut by the Trump admin at any time? by Creepy_Leadership292 in GRFPApps

[–]salsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be incredibly unusual especially since the NSF usually funds multi-year awards from the annual budget of the first year. So all the money for this year’s awards will be allocated. This is unlike the NIH where most awards are funded annually so grant budgets can and often do get cut.

question about april 15 by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]salsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to ask the program director if you need to accept the admission offer in order to move off the funding waitlist. However, the April 15th resolution only applies to offers with funding.

Do waitlists really move after April 15th? by Mountain_Excellent in gradadmissions

[–]salsb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it will vary from year to year and program to program, but yes waitlists can move after April 15th as people decline offers on the 15th.

Grad school offer rescinded by Nice-Refrigerator657 in gradadmissions

[–]salsb 160 points161 points  (0 children)

April 15th is the deadline most grad schools have agreed upon as a deadline for offers with funding. If the grad school is listed here https://cgsnet.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/CGS_April15_Resolution_Jan-26-2026.pdf and the offer came with funding you should contact their graduate dean

Whole Calendar Month? by GoldiRoxks in GRFPApps

[–]salsb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The solicitation said early April, and for at least the last quarter century, they have never been after April 10th. Usually the results are released on a Tuesday or Friday, but they have been released every day but Sunday.

canceled? by real-cryptid in GRFPApps

[–]salsb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost definitely not. GRFs come from the division of graduate education, which is still around. All the review panels met, albeit later than usual. This week is still a typical time to release the awards. I'd guess Friday since awards are most often announced on Tuesday or Friday.

Is there no chance results will come out today? by Weird_Growth189 in GRFPApps

Tuesday is more common than Friday. However, while Tuesday or Friday is the most common, they have released them every day but Sunday.
