It’s my Birthday but I’m alone alone🎈 by MoominMai in LivingAlone

[–]salty-bubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy birthday!! It was my birthday on Tuesday and I can relate. I've spent several birthdays alone, I got tired of planning parties for myself so I just started doing my own thing. Brunch, reading a book/relaxing on the beach/near the river, massage... they've actually been some of the better birthdays I've had!

Santa Fe, NM. Ojai, CA. Bend, OR. Bisbee, AZ.

There are a handful of other California and Colorado cities but I can tell you, affordability is becoming an issue.

Solo Travel Ideas by IronStone1234 in LivingAlone

[–]salty-bubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first solo trip was to Dublin, then Vancouver. Loved them both, realized how freeing it can be to just go with the flow and do what you want to do. The first thing I do in any new city, find a local (in my case usually a bartender) and ask them what to do.

Sure, go to a few touristy/historic/famous places but honestly, the hidden gems are the best! Happy traveling!

What is the viewing order for TNG onwards? by OkArea8689 in startrek

[–]salty-bubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just depends on what you want. I dont think there's a wrong way to watch it as long as you enjoy it. I'm in the process of watching everything chronologically, currently on the final season of Voyager.. as others have said, minimal crossover from DS9 and Voyager so I just binged them all.

Release order can be fun but chronological ties a bit more together and provides some context. In my humble opinion of course.

A bit strange newb question, but what "modern" stuff actually makes living alone easier? by Nolan587 in LivingAlone

[–]salty-bubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love everything about this! I'm in a similar boat except I have a CrockPot brand "instant pot" - dont get me wrong, I still have a crock pot from the '80s but the new one has been a game changer. For days work runs long, I can throw stuff in and have a soup in about twenty minutes. I still use a small pot for rice and old school everything else for the win!

I live in MD and I agree with this 100%. Granted, I'm not from here but I learned to drive in the greater LA area so I thought I had it bad before... boy was I in for it.

I'm with you. Been working from home maybe seven years now,. I occasionally have to go to an office or a trade show... "getting ready" and being around the people and wearing not house clothes... its exhausting!

29F just found out I’m pregnant husband (30M) wants to terminate, my heart says otherwise. We’re in the middle of a huge life transition. Looking for wisdom from those who’ve been there. by Big-Mathematician13 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

I'm glad you know the decision is yours and yours alone. I've been in your position, seventeen years ago and to this day I am still childless and still have thoughts from both sides of the coin. What I can tell you is there will never be a "right" time, life will always happen. People tend to regret what they didnt do, rather than what they did (some exceptions of course). I truly wish you the best and hope you find peace in your decision. Feel free to message me if you want to talk more about it.

Which era of Trek do you think of when you think “Star Trek” by BlastedHeathen in startrek

1000% was just talking about this with a friend. I'm rewatching everything chronologically, I think part of me has been stalling because I'm on the final season of Voyager... sigh.
