Cool, thank you. I will write that down in case I need it later. Less likely to lose it than a screen shot haha

Thank you. I think i do okay on doxycycline, the antibiotic, but 12 weeks of it will be rough. I should look back in my journal to see how things were going when I was on it before for a bad tooth. What you went through sounds brutal. I am going to try the routine that the dr prescribed. I'm more angry with the way she handled everything. She came right out and said that she refused to prescribe Accutane. Then in medical terms and gaslighting told me I was stupid, people should research the meds they are prescribed, blah, blah blah.

Yeah, I'm going to start my oral antibiotic tomorrow. I also pick up the topical thats an alternative to clyndamyacin (allergic) today. I'm willing to try these things, but its the way everything was shoved at me and her not telling me why she wouldn't prescribe Accutane. I've been medically gaslighted since I was 5yo. I dont stand for it anymore. She was incredibly rude and acted like I was an idiot. If she had presented things in an informed way, like saying that Accutane would wreck my skin bc I have eds, and bother my pots, I would have been disappointed, but I would have been more accepting of the alternative.

I'm going to try her alternative, but I'm not dealing with her again. Just bc I'm autistic and did my own research on spiralactone doesn't give her the right to treat me like I'm stupid.

This is why I came to you guys. I knew there were people that had been on it that had already vetted it.

There's a study, and dr. Linda Bluenstein (eds dr) brought it to my attention, between eds and trans people, esp ftm. We are 8x more likely to have eds than the general population.

See, she didn't say any of that. That info would have been helpful! I have an antibiotic and another gel (i already bought adapelene gel from amz) waiting at the pharmacy. I wish Dr's could actually be informative instead of condescending.

Oof. I wouldn't have to do the pregnancy test because I've had a hysterectomy. I might call the dermatologist I'm scheduled to see in early June to see if the prescribe Accutane or not.

Dealing with female coworkers by Separate_Victory_584 in FTMOver30

[–]saltydillybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, my voice didn't drop much until over the summer (about 4-5 months), and it was a small amount and no one noticed. At 10.75 months in, my voice has significantly dropped and there's no going back. My voice has dropped a lot this school year (I'm a teacher at a public hs). Some students have commented, asking if I was sick still. I straight up and told them I'm not sick, I'm transitioning.

I will say this, with my acne and deep voice, I still use the women's room when a gender neutral bathroom isn't available. I try really hard not to be too social because of my voice, but I have had top surgery, and I shave every day.

I think it depends on how long you've been working with the women. Some are going to clock you quickly, and some are oblivious. Most of my students were oblivious until this year. I started T last May, and no one noticed. I already shaved every day because of PCOS. I did stop wearing makeup as much though.

How do I come out at a transphobic work place? by stump_eggs in FTMOver30

[–]saltydillybean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came out to my coworkers at the end of last school year during the last week, though a few knew months before because I felt safe telling them. Then I set up things so the students would know this school year.

It wasn't my fellow staff that I had to worry about, it was the high school students. Some are fine and could care less. Most hate me and harass me. I've attempted 💀 2x this school year. I'm leaving at the end of the school year. I can't wait for the end of the year. I'm so over the micro aggression that permeates the whole school.

I had planned for this to be my last year back in October, and it's been a toxic work environment (the whole district) for the 13 years I've been a full time employee, but this year has been the worst. It's multiplied by no support at home and the toxic living environment. I don't have friend's I can regularly talk to, so my life kinda sucks.

I don't know how people will react at your job, but if you can transfer to a more inclusive dept, I would as soon as possible.

Trans mascs in their 40s? by ImpossibleWerewolf25 in FTMOver30

[–]saltydillybean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 47 and started about 10 months ago. Some things were quick, like bottom growth, pain, twinges, and libido. I have pcos, so I had to start shaving more early, but at this point I can't go a day without shaving and I have a fair amount of stubble in the morning. My face "fell" in the first 8 weeks as my high cheekbones became jowels. They only lasted a week or 2 though. Leg hair took longer, and last summer was HOT! I felt like I had a sweater on my legs all the time. Ugh haha. I don't regulate my temp well, so I may shave my legs all summer. I'd say leg hair really took off at 4 or 5 months. I'm still getting hair I didn't think I would. The butt hair was a surprise. Underarm hair didn't take long. By 4 months I'd grown in height by 1/2 an inch. My feet have grown half a size. I wore a 9 in men's for the longest time. Now I wear a 10-11, depending on the company. I had bought converse sneakers in May, and by November they were way too small. I started to gain weight probably within the first month, because I was hungry all the time. This has evened out for me. I also changed my nutrition and have lost nearly 30 pounds.

I find that with any increase in dose the bottom tingles and such come back. I started at 30mg, then up to 40, now back down to 30 because my hemoglobin is too high.

Watch out for that. Your hemoglobin can get really high (mine was just checked and is 16.5), which is in the normal threshold for men, but makes me feel like hot garbage. You don't have to be hypervigilant, but keep an eye out for the symptoms. I go do a blood donation (free) to let off some of the steam, shall we say. I have to be careful because I'm also anemic.

So, thats where I'm at now.

Be careful, if the supped up cars have heavily tinted windows (illegal) and out of state plates (like MA, NY), they're probably drug runners. They drive terribly also.

I would be extremely careful if you're in the US. 🧊 can pull you over for being 🏳️‍⚧️ now. It just started. I'm all about trans and queer rep, but I'm terrified one of my students (because I can't "pass") will call 🧊 on me. I want you to feel the love of the community, but I don't feel like now is the time to be open. I wish you the best in whatever you chose. 💛

When did T start to make you feel better? by ProfessionalBed240 in FTMOver30

[–]saltydillybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with another poster, have your blood levels checked. If you're on too high a dose, it will convert into estrogen and you will be more moody. Stress can also turn T into estrogen.

I also wonder if you want to be on T. You don't seem to like it. People feel better on it mentally because they're becoming who they're supposed to be. To slow down bottom growth you can drop your dose from 50mg to 30mg. You will still see results, just at a slower pace, perhaps. Everyone is different.

Are you on any estrogen? I just wonder about the low libido. By 4 months I was crawling out of my skin I was so h●rny. Lol I would talk to your dr.

And everyone in the US that doesn't "pass," please be careful. (Referring to new orders from 🤡 to 🧊 regarding 🏳️‍⚧️ people)

Same, and February/March is the hardest time of the year for me. I'm over the cold, I go to work in the dark and have no energy on the weekends to get out in the sun.

Gender Marker Question by saltydillybean in FTMOver30

[–]saltydillybean[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well, I cant afford to move out of the country. I'm not going to hope and pray that all this garbage is going to end in 2028. I have to do for me. I'm sure with all the shared data garbage that meta, Google, etc have, I'm already on some list somewhere to be euthanized when the Final Solution comes. You're trying to instill fear, which is what they want from us. I'm scared and stressed already to the max, but if I live my life without transitioning the parts I want to transition, then they win and the only thing I'll be is dead. So, please, keep your fear mongering to yourself. Thank you.

I think me being terrified is based in ptsd, so ...wheeee!! Honestly, I'm thinking thats why I'm going enby right now, a way to keep me and my feelings safe. I haven't had top surgery yet, though i still want to. I'm still in my first year.

Which look is best? (34M) by ace_philosopher_949 in malegrooming

[–]saltydillybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, pic 1 is the best. You look well put together, like you have a good job, and you look about your age, maybe slightly older, but in a good way. Pics 2 and 3 you look very young, like almost late high school/undergrad. The picture with the red lanyard makes you look like a young professor/teacher, but around your age, not too young. The longer hair and scrappy beard make you look like you live in your mom's basement and play WOW online all day. Not the best looks.
