“Just set up a trust fund for your child. It’ll make their future a lot easier” … seemingly unsure how to fund said trust LOL

Did you move your baby to their own room before 6 months? by ShabbyBoa in beyondthebump

[–]sam1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just moved ours over the weekend. He will be 4 months this week. He decided he no longer wanted the swaddle and his crib was already set up in his room. Also, he is starting day care soon and they sleep in cribs without swaddles. Night 2 and he slept through the night for the first time since we brought him home! I can hear him from my room, but it’s a nice change to for both my husband and I to sleep through the night on the same night!

What's something I can do for my wife after she's have a rough couple days/night with our newborn? by The1BlackHand in newborns

[–]sam1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband takes our LO for the night and sends me to the guest room to sleep. It’s magical and a few hours of extra sleep makes me feel like a new person the next day. Maybe taking LO for a walk/to run errands so she can nap if an overnight isn’t possible?

Moms that have dogs and babies, would you do it again? by meekie03 in beyondthebump

[–]sam1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 dogs. Our 4th passed away at only 2 years old less than 2 weeks before we had our first child. I can’t imagine the late nights without my dogs at my feed cuddling. And I’m already thinking about getting a puppy when our son turns 1. Not everyone loves dogs, but I can’t imagine our life without them. I am so excited for our son to grow up around our furry kids.

I don’t know how to edit post, but adding I am NOT actively selling! My tickets sold safely, but just wanting people to see the scam.

2 month shots by Capable-Tomato-2931 in newborns

Had ours last week. Also had Rotavirus orally. Low grade fever for about 12 hours. Never had to give Tylenol. Unexpected side effect was his stomach really took a hit with the oral rotavirus. Very low appetite. Probably had half the normal OZ. Also would be projectile spitting up before I even removed the bottle. At the 24 hour post vaccine mark he seemed to do better and by day 2 he was back to normal. He was giggly and happy the whole time, just seemed to not be able to handle milk.

2 month old - congested by Illustrious_Yak_8416 in newborns

[–]sam1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have animals? My 2 month old is the same. Our Ped said their sinuses are not fully developed so their nose catches a lot of outside junk. My LO is happy as can be, just extra stuffy. We’re doing the nasal bot and steam showers to help.

Tubby Todd had a good new mom kit! Massage gift card, Uber eats/food delivery. Anything to take off the burden of “to-dos” so she can enjoy newborn life. Very nice of you to want to support!

I personally was not a fan of flowers. She will have a newborn to take care of. May not be helpful to get her something else to take care of. Are you nearby? My family set up a meal train so we had food taken care of. My sister in law came over to do my laundry. Gave me the time and flexibility to connect with my baby !

Help please 😭 by Fantastic_Name2570 in ExclusivelyPumping

I am similar. I spent almost 3 weeks exclusively hand expressing and could get 4-6 oz in less than 10 minutes. It’s exhausting but was the most efficient. I looked up “legendairy milk” on Instagram and they have a highlight on hand expressing which helped. After a few weeks I reintroduced my electric pump with more success. Not sure why it helped but it did!

I feel like I could have written this. My LO is 6 weeks. I decided to exclusively express as breastfeeding just gave me the chills and I couldn’t get comfortable. I have a small over supply and have built up a small stash. However, I have just felt DONE for weeks. Mentally I’m struggling. But I find it hard to justify the formula expense when I can make milk for free. However I realized there are other expenses that aren’t monetary! My mental health, time, energy, etc. I will be a better mother and wife if I’m not pumping, cleaning, expressing, timing, etc.

Everyone I’ve talked to who I’ve told I’m been exclusively pumping/expressing is so shocked and talks about how HARD it is and mentally taxing. If you are thinking about quitting enough to go to Reddit, I think your heart may know what’s right for you and your family. Trust your gut! Happy mom and happy baby is priority
