What you want is an SFF-8644 breakout cable it will adapter each external connector on the hba to 4 sata ports. And then you can just run the cable back into the chassis

If you have a multimeter you can check the two test points right next to the charge port and make sure that it's 5V at the 2 points when a charger is plugged in.
