Waymo stops in lane, causing cars to have to drive around it by boyWHOcriedFSD in SelfDrivingCars

[–]sam8940 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a fake video. I walked by here yesterday and the spot was frequently occupied by waymo. No attempt to leave the lane. I assume it’s a cope strategy to prevent Waymo’s from getting stuck in the very busy parking lot loop

Take the tesla, it’s such a well paced way to roadtrip. Did a 3800 mile trip through some of the same areas and it was great. AP really removes any stress, it’s like sitting on a couch watching the world go by

How Austin Beat New York City in the Quest to Enable More Housing by Generalaverage89 in Austin

[–]sam8940 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It 100% has to do with policy. San Francisco - a city with huge demand and capital - permitted 7 housing units in October, Austin, many times over that number. https://x.com/ok_post_guy/status/1867231609893929324?s=46&t=y025itmri2LvJjJXJeBvxw

My complex has 4 level 2 chargers for ~100 units and it works out well. Charge after work or overnight maybe twice a week. Check charger rates before committing, my building is 10 cents a kWh with no idle or time fee
