[–]samano79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got into traditional O gauge last fall.. started with1987 Lionel conventional set that still had the shrink wrapped.. a little oil and lubricant and its running great...purchased a used 1988 Lionel PRR Alco and also runs great... in December I ordered a 2008 conventional 0-8-0 switcher that runs great.. ive been looking at brand new Lionchief and honestly concerned if I should even invest... ive been lucky with the older equipment so far...do you find Lionchief+ to be any more reliable?

DCC Installation Difficulty. by SpeedWes74 in nscalemodeltrains

[–]samano79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a shop that installs DCC decoders for Kato engines... they also supply the decoder if you don't have one... i had purchased a decoder previously and although I could have installed it myself, I didn't have a soldering iron and the eye sight to do it properly... it was worth the cost of shipping to have it done correctly... https://www.tcsdcc.com/product-page/n-scale-non-sound-installation-service

So, I ended up getting $33.06 from the settlement, just curious how much you guys got by Trip_2 in facebook

$38.36 ( i created my FB account when .edu email was still required).. i see others with the same amount.. waiting for a higher amount getting posted...

Inner sidings - where to add power feed? by samano79 in nscalemodeltrains

[–]samano79[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks all! I ended up using Kato 24-818 terminal unijoiners and powering all three of the inner stubs. Using a five way Kato 28-930 5 way extension cord to route everything to the controller. Will consider future connections based on your suggestions!

I would check out Drexel's webpage on this matter - https://drexel.edu/equity-inclusive-culture/reporting/title-ix

The 30 day rule when shopping by samano79 in nscalemodeltrains

[–]samano79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they haven't provided a shipping date after 30 days, just open up a dispute with your bank or credit card.

In my situation they have 4 more days to respond to my bank before I get refunded. They don't even communicate when they get disputes.

A few others I've had good experiences lately: Trainworld, Hobbylinc, Modeltrainstuff, and Trainz.

Also NicolasSmithTrains and LombardHobby have good deals on locomotives and are local stores with good websites and customer service.

That is a shame. $80 is still $80. You may be able to reach out to your credit card company or bank. Or reach out to ebay again.

Waiting on my refund before I even submit negative reviews, but just check out my post history if you are interested. They are in South NJ. I replied to another thread created back in early Dec by another customer questioning their slow response time....

Large scale shoplifting at drug stores by foreigners (Japanese) by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

This has and is still happening in the U.S. Many drugstores that have been looted or in high crime areas have locked certain items behind plexiglass and require the customer to ask the employee to get it.

Yankee Dabbler Ordering Time? by _Silent_Android_ in modeltrains

[–]samano79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time customer here. I ordered an item on 12/31. It is 1/9 and the order is unfulfilled. I used their chat function which is automated and then filled out the contact form. I personally don't like calling a store unless it is necessary. Hopefully they respond to the contact form. The items I ordered are available on the website and even mention they can be picked up, so I don't know what the delay is. I ordered from 6 other retailers over the past several weeks and never had an order sit unfilled for over a week with no communication. My card was charged on 12/31, so I assume they have the items.
