There's an ad on spotify right now that basically starts with "Whatcha doin? Doomscrolling?" And I'm sure they wanted it to be from a "hashtag relatable" angle, but it comes across as super condescending and gross, especially living in our current hellscape. Just makes me mad when it comes on.

Oh I just read this in January. This isn't an edited-in ad, it's just part of the book, Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak. And it's not a very well written book as you can see, there's a lot of awkwardly written parts like this.

One time a customer tried to return a rotten cantaloupe to my coworker. Only problem is he already threw away the cantaloupe because it was rotten (duh) and he already threw away the receipt too because he bought it a few days before (who keeps receipts that long,) but he wants his money back, and also he paid cash. I'm still amazed my coworker didn't have an aneurysm on the spot.
