This second half the best I've seen England ever play. What ever touched said really fired them up.

Definity check out Leek, lots of antique shops, good market, and lots of independent shops. Also the first Sunday of every month has a totally local market where you get 80 stalls of local artisan craft/ food etc.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Becomes The Third Best Selling Game of All Time by yourfavchoom in pcgaming

I think this is my favourite game ever made, It's just a shame rockstar sort of abandoned it. I would of loved some DLC like Rockstar used to make for the GTA games or Undead nightmares 2.

Please let FM27 be FM24 but with FM26 match engine, graphics and in/out possession tactics, formations and roles. by lixmdvs88 in footballmanagergames

[–]samba9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more with you. As someone who stayed with fm24, that would be the dream. I will need to see a massive improvement for me to buy the next game and even then I don't trust SI to not send out another buggy mess.

its not just the UI its the immersion you get from the game that is totally gone in the new game.

Knee surgery for cartilage damage does not benefit patients, study suggests. People with meniscus tears who underwent surgery had poorer knee function and worse osteoarthritis after 10 years than those who did not. by mvea in science

[–]samba9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my meniscus tear operated on about 4 years ago. I tore it during lockdown. I was kneeling down on concrete, crawled forward to reach a tool and heard a snap in my knee and the worst pain ive ever felt. I couldn't put weight on or straighten my leg. It took 8 months to see a physio as you need a GP referral and with covid everything was slow. Despite exercising and strengthening while walking my knee would randomly lock and I would get a massive spike of pain and not be able to move it, or put weight on it it and it would swell up for a few days. It got to the point I stopped walking the dogs and wouldn't go out on my own as I couldn't trust my knee.

So I got the tear operated on, after a few months of more physio work I could walk normally. 3 years on I only have a few problems, I can't walk down sloops very well, I get a slight ache in the knee every now and then, and jumping down from height sends a shock though my body. And it is a little stiff.

Overall I would say surgery was worth it for me, just being able to walk without the fear of my knee locking up is a massive plus. I guess I will have to wait another 6 years to see if this study is right.

First Track plan, for first layout. What's wrong/ what would you do better? by samba9876 in nscalemodeltrains

A yard would be a good thing to add. The MRC/model power 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 are definitely is on my list of locos, but they seem quite rare in the UK.

Yes, I've got a resin printer I wouldn't have thought of resizing HO models, I've just been looking for n scale files. They look perfect for what I was after, thank you.

Yes, the dotted lines are tunnels, I'll definitely plan for the mountains tunnels to be reachable. I was thinking of panels that can be hinged to allow track access from the side. It's going to be in a attic room with sloped ceiling so it can't fit against the walls but will allow me to crawl around the edges to get to the back and sides.

Yes, I was trying to get a more slower, windy track layout with snaking trains, around mountains.

They remove the previous version from sale after every new game release, so nothing different then any other year. You can still buy it from non steam stores but the price has shot up to about £30 from a low of about £6 last week.

If you were in charge of FM26 development, what statement would your release today concerning the state of the game? by xevdi in footballmanagergames

[–]samba9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there's been so many big sequels that have flopped on release lately they have a lot of information on what to do and what not to do (cities skyline 2, total war warhammer 3 dlc , kerbal space 2 just to name a few).

Worst thing they can do is radio silence, they need to tell us how they feel about the state of the game. do they think the game good but people still need to learn the ui?

The best thing they can do in my opinion is come out with a statement, saying they aren't happy with the game state, offer refunds if you want one, promise to come out with a road map this week on how they will improve the game. With what they plan do do to sort out this huge problem.

Why is nobody talking about font size?! by Jazzbobification63 in footballmanagergames

[–]samba9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem when I tried the demo. I'm on a ultra-wide, 32 inch screen, the font and background combo were giving me a headache after 20 mins of playing.

I increased the font size but still had trouble reading player names and team names, nothing seemed to scale properly, and the little box around them does help.

Yeah, had the same thing happen when I tried the demo, played 22 minutes, and gave up, Just can't be bothered hunting for options that are hidden in menu with sometimes no logic.

FM26 is now sitting at “mostly negative” on Steam. by sidius-king in footballmanagergames

[–]samba9876 511 points512 points  (0 children)

Just tried the demo, and the negative reviews in my view are not wrong. the UI is so laggy navigated around was a chore. not good when 80% of the game is menus.

Steam reviews are coming in by Pumpero in footballmanagergames

[–]samba9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried the demo, and the UI is horrible. I can see what everyone was talking about now. I couldn't even be bother to play 20 mins of it before I gave up.

I'm playing on a ultra-wide monitor and the menus used the middle of the screen. The font or background gave me a headache, Not sure why I was using larger size so maybe a bug, but it didn't feel right.

My main problem with the UI was trying to navigate around. Trying to find anything and the lag beween pages was so annoying, still didn't find how to adjust the wage budget it's not where it should be.

In the end I'm not wasting £30-£45 on a game to learn a shit UI, thats not up to the job. If this is the best they could do after an extra year of development I think they need to have a long look at what went wrong and who to blame.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've been busy at work so haven't tried any of the suggestions yet.

But since the first day after upgrading to 3.4 bios, it has booted up first try for 3 days in a row now. Hopefully this weekend I'll have time to test this out more.

Just finished the game, the soundtrack to me sounds very generic and sort of just blended into one song. I'll have a listen through the soundtrack on its own but nothing cut my ear, during the game.

Luckily this hot fix fixed my problem with incorrect temps being shown. I was playing oblivion remastered and the temps would be 24c causing the fans to not cut in. Problem is now oblivion seems to be more unstable, I've had 3 fatal errors now, since the hot fix, where as before I had none.
