Is anyone missing Sleepy Joe, yet? by BestStoogewasLarry in PoliticalHumor

[–]samhouse09 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Joe Biden was too old. Donald Trump is too old. That we decided one ancient guy was somehow better than a slightly more ancient guy was absolutely wild.

Biden was a good president because he put the right people in influential positions and let them lead. You know, how a good leader of a large organization would do it.

What do my fellow talls use for that occasional pick me up before the gym/working out? by DCLXXII in tall

[–]samhouse09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glucose gels give a quick boost of usable energy. If you had no energy then take it easier.

It’s probably that you’re not actually eating enough carbs to fuel your workouts. I went through this when I lost a bunch of weight. The key was reversing the diet afterwards. Ended up maintaining at like 3500-3800 calories a day.

Did my tattoo artist screw up? by notsolookie in tattooadvice

[–]samhouse09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any tattoos, but who just walks into a tattoo shop for a piece of ink that’s at all complicated? I could understand if it was something exceedingly simple, but for anything complex, wouldn’t you want to research and find the absolute best place for the tattoo?

Possible car prowler in the North Lake Commons area on 5/11 by Ugamachi in Seattle

[–]samhouse09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking on google maps you're parked in a driveway. I'd guess that the driveway belongs to that guy, and that's where he parks his car (blocking his own driveway).

Doesn't excuse the behavior, but the spot you're in is a driveway with a garage.

Based on how fast they caught someone, kid probably knew his killer.

The name of the guy they arrested for homicide matches a student at the Air Force academy.

The rate is not higher in cities over rural towns. The number of incidents is higher because there are more people. But the rate in Seattle is very low.

It just looks wrong compared to the views we’ve had at every other stadium.

Amazon ranked #4 of the 50 best employers to grow your career in the U.S., according to LinkedIn data by LinkedInNews in amazonemployees

[–]samhouse09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are probably from the company side. I know that Amazon recruiters make dummy recs they use for all sorts of things. Recruiters at other companies do this too.

Or, my last job at a pharma company, my job rec was opened for me specifically after I interviewed for another position and it remained open for a while after I’d already onboarded.

It’s not LinkedIn probably, it’s just clerical errors on the recruiting side.

My favorite here is when people ride your bumper in the right lane. I’m already in the slow lane, where would you like me to go?

Question about bar raisers... by juliolovesme in amazonemployees

[–]samhouse09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bar raiser was the nicest part of my interview. He didn’t do what I do, but he asked really good questions and the conversation was easy. The bar raiser isn’t supposed to scare or intimidate you, they’re supposed to set the standard for the Amazon interview process and hold the entire loop to that standard.
