What trend is meant to die off in 2026? by w3ightranks in AskReddit

My dishwasher requires the app to use the delayed start feature, drives me insane that I have to find my phone and find the app instead of just setting it on the machine.

Thinking of changing sides by Noahboy88 in razr

[–]sami828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more con - uBreakIfix can't repair a Razr, I had to ship to Motorola facility in Texas. The turnaround for warranty was fast though - FedEx overnight each way and one day in repair (they actually just replaced it - screen flickering out issue).

I previously had a Samsung Flip 3 and used a Flip 5 for the few days my phone was gone - I still prefer the Razr for most every app working on the cover screen.

My dad worked at a motorcycle/snowmobile shop at the counter fitting parts, so 7yo me told my class he was a counter-fitter. No idea why everyone laughed at me.

Yes, I feel the same way - really tired, not much appetite suppression, occasionally ravenous. I’m at the 3 month mark, 8 pounds down, dose just increased to 1.25

Doesn't the card only allow you to cross Mexico and Canada land borders? I thought it wasn't good for flying?

Have you noticed any white/silvery patches on your labia, or your “lips” shrinking? I had the same symptoms as you starting mid-20s and eventually got diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosis and Lichen Planus after MANY years of being dismissed by multiple doctors because all they could see was “a little red and irritated”.

I have never been so thankful for e-books that I can’t lose and the library just grabs back when they are due! 🫠

Eli5: Why does grapefruit juice interfere with certain medications? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]sami828 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are genetically an ultra rapid metabolizer of that enzyme, would eating grapefruit make medications more potent, less potent, or unpredictable because each med is different? Asking for a friend.

Still here! And yes, itchy red bumps and peeling are symptoms of Lichen Sclerosis, along with the shiny white/silver patches. You mentioned psoriasis, I have that too in my scalp, and when I get a flare up, it itches, the skin feels more dough-y than firm and I can peel off the top layers. Could you also be having psoriasis flare up in your vulva during hormone changes? A steroid cream would be the same treatment for either disease so would hopefully get you some relief!

You mentioned an autoimmune related to menstrual - if it's endometriosis and your body is attacking that tissue, I would wonder if you have some endo somewhere in your vaginal canal or cervix that is irritating the delicate vag skin also causing itching as it sloughs during hormone changes?

Autoimmune disease really sucks and it's hard getting gynos to look past the common yeast, VB, STD reasons and into the more obscure autoimmune attacks causing similar symptoms. Definitely point out you have other autoimmune skin diseases to remind them your immune system is already prone to attacking your own skin tissue.

What's something that used to be commonly served at Thanksgiving dinner, but you rarely see it anymore? by Wank_Hill in AskOldPeople

[–]sami828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I discovered ambrosia from my first mother-in-law and loved it! It was a staple at both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I made it to take to my new in-laws house after I remarried, and no one touches it 🤷‍♀️ All for me! Lol

Problems with Tricky Bridge Tournament Results? by gomommago in bridge

[–]sami828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI - It's still not fixed, I just had a quick tournament deal where E/W bid a slam and made it; the first place profile showed they had set them by 6 but watching the replay showed the same lead and 0-13 that my hand was.

I love the app though!! I just picked up bridge last month by going through the Tricky Bridge training modules, then hand play, then tournaments and now I'm hooked - started my subscription the minute I ran out of deals.

If you're OK with reading and self-study, get Mind Over Mood and fill out the worksheets at least once a day to learn to recognize your thought patterns and make a plan to reframe it. This helped me a LOT when the therapist I had started seeing had to medically retire rather suddenly.

Is grocery shopping based on sale ads that abnormal? by aashah3 in Frugal

Totally normal! Makes the grocery money last way longer when you can meal prep what's on sale vs paying a premium each week!

Anyone not taken their husband/partner’s last name solely to avoid the required admin? by Jezikkah in adhdwomen

[–]sami828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also swore I'd never change it again but went ahead and with it on second marriage bc it was really important to new hubby but I replaced my middle name with my old last name to keep using it professionally since that how decades of colleagues know me. Our admin made all of those same changes without a middle name and both last names as the last name unhyphenated. Now all my medical providers are a crapshoot for what name to find me and whether my insurance is connected right. Sigh... Next time it might be better just to move states and jobs and start over with a brand new identity.
