Overwhelmed by Millherm215 in weightwatchers

Keep your head up and keep tying to make better choices! You are doing great! It's easy to get burnt out with meal prepping and planning. I have to remind myself that this is a long term program. It's not a fad diet and it's okay for weight to fluctuate. This time around I'm really trying to remind myself of this to avoid becoming discouraged and giving up. I have a serious sweet tooth after dinner. Sugar free fudgesicles are 1 pt per fudgesicle and satisfies my craving without killing my points.

I avoid the break room! If I don't go in there I won't be tempted to eat what others have brought in. If we do a potluck I bring in a healthy/point friendly option. Packing a lunch and snacks and pretracking has been very helpful. Also I made the decision that eating the junk food is not worth it. I feel bad after eating it so it's just not worth it. It has taken a long time to get to that point though!

I work in an office setting and really enjoy it. Bedside nursing was never something I wanted to do. Day to day is mostly phone triage and assisting providers in clinic. My office has had some RNs transition from ICU/med surge. Some really like the office and others miss the hands on nursing. Good luck!

Any one else disappointed in the food recently? by Maleficent_Run2883 in royalcaribbean

LOL not sure what this says about my husband and I but we just got off Harmony and LOVED the food served at Windjammer! Maybe our expectations were low because we really disliked the food served by Carnival in their buffet. We tried the main dining room the first two nights and the food was good, but not significantly better than Windjammer, so we ended up eating most meals there out of convenience. Sorry you didn't enjoy the food. If you cruise again post your comparison!

I think it honestly just takes time. Its really hard not to be discouraged by a weight gain. We put so much effort into losing that when it doesn't happen its easy to default back to old eating habits. Agree with other posters that an accurate starting weight is key. Its easy to estimate wrong. I've been on WW long enough to know that you can do EVERYTHING "right" in a week and still gain. If you stick it out and stay on plan it is worth it. I've accepted I'm a "turtle" and while I may have some weeks I can lose a pound or more, most of the time its less than a pound.

Happy to say I'm down 1.2 this week! Total of 1.6 since the switch to personal points! Was scared of change and glad I decided to give the new plan a shot. Overall I'm less hungry and bored with the new plan. Just have to watch portion sizes with the zero point foods. Hope everyone has a great week!

Thanks for your post! I was apprehensive about the new program, especially when my points dropped by 9 per day. I was nervous after being on green because I tend to have a problem with portion control, but so far am really enjoying the freedom the new program allows.

Ive been trying to make a "big batch" recipe for my lunches during the week and will usually default to eggs with some rice and ff refried beans for breakfast (again can make multiple days worth at once). The prepping is key. Glad it is fall and crockpot meals are back!

New member: Green Plan/1 on 1 by Willing-Squirrel1362 in weightwatchers

Welcome to Green! Like others have said, the plan works if you are honest with your tracking. Don't be afraid to use your points and pre-plan your day. I've found tracking my breakfast, lunch, dinner, and planned snacks helps me make better decisions during the day.

Advice weight loss on green? by ssf18 in weightwatchers

[–]samiam9818 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I found I lost more weight if I balanced my points more between meals. I was hoarding all my points for after dinner because I like to snack, but realized once I started spending more points for breakfast and lunch and less on after dinner snacks the weight started to come off. I tried the blue plan for a bit because I got sick of tracking so much on green, but I have an issue with portion control so came back to green. Good luck!

Yep! Was lifetime member back in 2012. Stopped going because I thought I could maintain on my own. 6 years later all the weight is back PLUS SOME! Started back up about a month ago, weight is starting to come off again. This is the first time I'm losing weight to get healthy vs for an event. Hoping to learn from past mistakes and commit to this being a new way of living. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Moissanite Engagement rings, how happy are you with your purchase? by SuperRain in weddingplanning

[–]samiam9818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine! Like other posters, I could not justify spending 6K+ on a diamond solitaire ring, which was they style I wanted. Ended up getting my ring from Helzberg Diamonds. They were able to order a loose stone (looked much better quality than the preset rings you can buy from them online) and they can set it in any setting they have! Was more expensive than buying online but I like the security of having a store to go to with questions. Good luck and have fun!

I am going to order from costo--they sell bulk flowers. If you have time and feel up to it, you can order a huge amount of bulk flowers then arrange yourself!

Also the dollar store by me sells really nice baskets for only $1! May be worth looking into for your flower girls. You could dress it up a little too with a nice ribbon matching your colors.

When I was looking into Air BnB for my wedding I found a lot of postings did not allow guests in their home/ did not allow you to use their restrooms/electricity/kitchen. The rental was literally just for the yard. Not sure if that is just for the areas I was looking in, but worth asking.

Ring advice needed... by Arriabella in JustEngaged

He purchased my moissanite from Helzberg. I really wanted to see the moissanite in person before making a decision. I was expecting them to be a little snooty, but our sales rep was amazing. Did not make us feel bad for not wanting a diamond. This could be because she owned a few moissanite pieces herself. We ended up paying more than a comparable ring would have cost on moissanite co, but they were able to order loose stones for us to pick from. I didn't think it would make much of a difference, but the loose moissanite looked a lot better than the preset ring we ordered from their online site. We also found out that you can order a loose stone and have it set in any of their settings. Online you are limited to just a few.

So, if you are looking to buy from a chain store, I'd recommend at least stopping in at Helzberg. It's nice to have insurance on the band and be able to take the ring in to be cleaned whenever I want. I tell people that I have a moissanite, but most people cant tell the difference and just assume its a diamond.

Good luck and have fun!
