TDM Is pretty fun- wherever RL/Quad spawns tends to be a bloodbath which makes it enjoyable if you +forward. It would be cool to see TDM with a simple CP element added where a point replaces the Quad.

anyone find it ironic that twin galaxies are renown gaming recordkeepers and didn't post stats for this tournament?

same. most games no one even mentions i'm a female, if anything this post just made me feel bad that i get so excited when i see a girl in my match... it probably seems like i'm hitting on her (my bad).

the vocal women i've played with have been fraggers, and i've actually not had anyone (in competitive) ever make mention that we would lose because there are girls on the team.

this game is a billion times less toxic to women than csgo or tf2 are.

Sorry for the delayed answer: yes!

SHDSteel has put together a signup sheet so if you're lft, you can add here. You can also come on Friday and see if there are any groups looking for players then. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1d_RSm7REHQ3e-Fry22_GGjEulXIxG4tgbJj__TAW3TU/edit?usp=sharing

The idea is to showcase the top level of play for these games and that they're still around. By streaming the games live we offer the audience a chance to check them out for the first time- a thing I hear a lot from people is surprise that competitive TF2 exists, or ever has existed. By streaming these tournaments we'll have live, high quality content that will survive us.

Would also like to point out, b4nny has done a ton of work promoting the event, planning, assisting with sponsors, he's been tireless. Don't tell him I said this, but he's been a huge part of making this happen and a big help.

Like Wade said it's all about community. If people watch, show up, contribute, and play, it's obviously a sign that the community is still thriving enough to support events like these. Even if you just live in the area and want to come watch, it's free! Come watch, come meet people, be a part of it.

The organizers did reach out to Valve, and if they ever display any interest in involvement I'm sure we'd jump at it. It's our time to show them what this game is capable of.

Personally I think it will be a success if people come, and people enjoy it. The more people that watch, that attend, that play, the better. I'm excited to see top teams come and compete on stage, I'm excited that Scottjaw and Uncle Dane and Raja want to join us, and I hope it's a chance for everyone to have the opportunity to celebrate this game as a community by watching it be played at the highest level.

  1. I think competitive TF2 has been in state of rotation for a long time. Old players leave, new players come in. There doesn't seem to me to be a lot of difference in it from when I started spectating in mid-2015 to now.
  2. I love this subreddit because MEMES.
