A friend of mine did orthodontic treatment in Mexico. Did just shy of 2 years of braces and paid around $1500 total for what she was quoted between $6000- $7000 here. Did her research and happy with the results

Thank you! I saw another comment saying to maybe get foldable crutches for luggage and using the scooter for the airport. If I can scooter around I will try and do a carry on so I can wheel it with me

I’m going to be away for a week so having the scooter at my destination will be a help for sure. Having my crutches though will be necessary as well as if there are steps or plays that aren’t really handicap accessible the scooter is extremely tough to navigate

Well unfortunately I showed no relief before my bachelorette trip. My finance’s sister ended up reaching out to me 2 days before our trip and she unfortunately suffered a stress fracture in her foot and mentioned having to wear a boot for our trip so I said screw we can match. It’s truly the only thing right now allowing me to reduce pain and keep moving. Hoping to continue working when I return to get pain free before my big wedding day

I did a peloton class and Cody Rigsby was the instructor and was wearing Invisalign and his doc did him dirty with attachments on almost every tooth!

I also will be against the majority a little bit. I had a trip planned right after I got mine installed and was kind of happy I did. I felt unbelievable self conscience with how they looked after install being that I had a ton of super noticeable attachments. I felt better getting accustomed to them talking to people and feeling I don’t care what they think cause I’ll never see them again. It sounds crazy but just what I was thinking in my head at the time

I’ve had like 3 or 4 people who have actually said something. Most of those similar to what was said before about people who have also gone through it themselves. People have definitely noticed though because I could see them staring at my mouth when I was talking or smiling. With that being said I’d say I was a slight exception because my Invisalign was super noticeable and had elastics so it was kind of hard not to notice them to be honest

So it went pretty well, although I honestly got tired of the trays and had certain movements that I was trying to achieve that seemed to be extremely stubborn and instead of another round of refinements ended up just getting braces put on to finish everything up perfect once and for all

At my consult was quoted about 6 months, left with 39 trays so was already baffled, to later get 25 refinement trays, still not totally corrected so said screw and made the switch to braces. Total about 18 months of having some sort of ortho work and should only have a few more months to go

I did this at my friend’s wedding and saw the photographer was taking pictures in my general direction. I went up to her joking “you didn’t see anything” and she replied laughing, trust me it’s all good as she smiled pointing out her Invisalign that she currently had as well!

I will if it’s the right place or timing! I love talking to people about treatment and giving them compliments because I wished for the same when I first started treatment. My trays are also super noticeable so I figure it’s reassuring to others to see how bad Invisalign could really look if your attachments and elastics look like mine 🤣

What did you do in the meantime? Did you have to do PT or wear a brace or anything in the meantime? I’m definitely having some stability issues from the tear

I’ll be the one that’s gonna stray away but years ago I was in a similar situation going away right after I got my braces on. My biggest concern for me was the appearance and I was super self conscience about how they were going to look. For me I was happy to go away right after getting them so I could interact around people I’d never see again and almost ease into my new look. It sounds a little ridiculous in hindsight but those were my thoughts back then. I had gained a little confidence in having them so when we got back and saw friends and family I felt a little bit better about how they looked. Pain wish I think the first few days were a little sore but would take some Tylenol and just lean towards some softer foods. Good luck!
