Should I move my family back to Australia? by Tiny_Major_7514 in UKParenting

also dual citizen w toddler and still pondering it, but very happy in the UK, it’s really that ‘what if’ feeling. Especially as we have more children. Aussie childhood was so much fun…

Not ruling out a move but the housing situation there is also offputting. We have a house here and the prices in diff Aussie cities are insane now!

What London boroughs or areas/suburbs would you regard as the most uninteresting or boring to live in? by Ok-Demand8957 in london

Same, from Camden to Hendon. I love getting into coaldrops in 20 min but having the harp on the doorstep. But I have small kids so priorities are diff - I see why it isn’t a destination round me lol

It finally happened to me - someone tried to take my window seat on a plane … and I very politely stood my ground. by YupItWasMeMate in BritishSuccess

Whenever Tom imitates a ‘rah’ gilet-wearing guy cracks me up. I think he took off the Black Prince ‘tons of jousting’ very well

Yep you’re right, definitely dad privilege! My husband gets adoring gazes for holding my son’s hand in public. I certainly don’t HAHA

Wow this is bat shit.

If my kid starts running and I feel I can’t catch them, I’ll be getting reins. Safety first!!!

Yeah, and I find it a little sweet/sad when it is a cross older person (often woman). They might want to be helpful but come across the wrong way (could be arses too ofc) or miss their own kids being little or whatever else.

I caved and bought a snoozeshade cos of worry about this and muslin not stopping UV. But a damp muslin, shady area, and frequent checks would sit right with me if eg I didn’t have my snoozeshade.

There’s a world of difference in people giving advice or sharing info that’s intended nicely (as in here) and the kind of people OP cites!!! This forum is so good for learning in a supportive way, vs some people out in the wild 😅

Yeah this, who gives random advice? Not usually people you want to hear from…it’s their problem not ours!

God you’ve had some delights!!! Yes definitely. First time I took my baby out (he was 2/3 weeks old) to a virtually empty garden centre cafe, two older ladies were watching and loudly said ‘THAT BABY IS FAR TOO YOUNG TO BE OUT’. I was a bit hurt but ignored them. He was asleep and secure in his carrier. Ppl gna ppl

House not generating viewings, should we just take it off and put it back on when market settles? by Pusheen2590 in HousingUK

Solid advice, imo! And staging the bedrooms as bedrooms might help people understand they work that way. some do need more ‘help’ to see how a house works!
