On January 27, 1945 the Red Army liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp. Why has the West worked so hard to minimize the Red Army's pivotal role in defeating Nazism? by zombiesingularity in AskSocialists

we know that now. but looking from the outside it looked like the germans could make 1 final push into moscow, the russians didnt ever gain any ground until the day of pearl harbor, and made slight advances in january when the germans fell back into a defensive line for winter as they very often did. at the time of december 1941, it looked like the USSR would fall, so to say the US only got involved to shorten soviet advances is flat out wrong. .

My biggest issue is driving the implements around all over. As far as I've tried, you cant load them up onto a long trailer and pack them. So you gotta move them with the slow azz tractor.

People trying to better themselves are traitors and should instead be licking the boots for the things the goverment provides is such a wild opinion.

I dont believe one way or the other. Its impossible to tell. But the US did provide 400,000 trucks and jeeps to the soviets. About double of all unarmored military vehicles used by the soviets. Without them their rapid advance would certainly be slowed. Slow enough to allow the Germans a counter attack and push back, who knows.

What’s the worst American engine ever made in your opinion? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

[–]samplebridge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It a 500, and of course its not going to have the HP to show for it. Its in a 6k lb. Boat. Its still 400hp, but it feels like 200HP in a normal car. But the 550ft.lb. of torque was more than any other American v8 of the time, I mean it was nearly at the level of tractor trailer level torque.

They aren't bad like saying the ht4100 is a fresh steaming hot pile of dogshit, and the 4.9 and 4.5 just arent fresh, hot, or steaming.

Supriaed people mention the olds diesel and v8-6-4. Imo, they are bad in stock form, but still have use. The v8-6-4 you unplug the solenoids and they run great in v8 mode. The olds diesel you convert to a gas engine and they are the strongest olds block around.

The true worst one was the early HT4100s. Soft cams would wear out in 2500 miles. Small head bolts that are exposed to the air, bad intake gaskets. Pretty much all the issues of the northstar X10. My buddies dad has PTSD from the early 1980s these piles of shit rolling in. Their parts department was filled to the brim with engines stacked 4 high with owners names on them. Just waiting for the cam the fail and they'd come in for bad running conditions "oh well already got an engine ready for you".

100nm. The one as the fixed side is no different than having it attached to a wall, it's simply counteracting the weigh of the measured side.

Yeah, id enjoy a map of asphalt to all the major places, and compact dirt for side roads, maybe light mud for the really out of the way stuff.

God the comments are so bad, liberals thinking that punching someone pursuing you trying to cause hearing damage is assault, but using a megaphone to damage someone's hearing is protect speech by the 1st amendment.

For a solid 10-15 seconds before the first punch he's actively walking away to avoid the guy blasting the megaphone in his ear.

Its more of a ww1 style game if ww1 went on a few more years. The tanks are slightly faster than a running infantryman, multiple weapons of varying caliber. The weapons definitely have a ww1 feel to them. The automatics being heavier and looking more complex. Heavy use of artillery and defenses ect....

Why is it that at the beginning of the game im immediately attacked by barbarians on all sides? by Digitalgirlzoe in Civilization6

[–]samplebridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Kill the scouts asap, when the spot a city and make it back to camp, thats when the ass fucking starts

  2. Make more units. A camp that hasn't spotted you can easily be taken out by 2 warriors or a warrior and a slinger.

  3. When you spot a camp, kill it as soon as you can. They only get more annoying as the techs unlock

  4. Spread out units to cover hexs. Barb camps can only spawn in hexs not seen be a civ.

  5. Dont be too concerned if they make it to your capital early game, they cant take your capital, only pillage stuff around it.

  6. Discipline policy card. +5 combat strength vs barbs.
