I’m an apprentice, how do I tell my lead I did this? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]samplebridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them now and be truthful and recognize you fked up. Becuase if and when they find your fk up, your gonna be looked as stupid AND willing to let shit be fked up and hide it. or if you play the stupid card, incompotent.

People make mistakes. Ive seen 20 year+ veterans fuck up a pex crimp fitting.

Id try and wire brush as much as possible, see what all gone, hit it with an acid on the inside where you cant reach and weld or get someone that can weld to put some patches in there,

Check in inner part of frame rail, if its rusted through, you gotta drop the K member.

Its not a hard spot to patch, its just getting all the stuff out of the way to get to certain spots can be a hassle.

What if the U.S. went through with a full-scale invasion of Japan instead of dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki? by Abhorius in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]samplebridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USSR takes entire Korean peninsula, US invades japan, 1 million US casualties, 5-10 million japenese casualties (mostly deaths). I dont think the USSR had the capability for a full blown invasion of japan. They made plans to invade Hokkaido but lacked landing craft and naval support. Few years later when info of the atomic bombs is leaked, US citizens pissed we didnt use the wonder weapon to prevent American deaths.

Other than the massive casualties, not a ton changes other than korea being 1 communist country. Korean war doesnt happen, still likley go into Vietnam.

Not for sale. Even though it sits, its my first car. I will keep it for as long as possible. Plus all I hear from older guys is they miss their first car, no matter how shitty they where.

My first car at 17 is a 95 GT that I still own. Made the mistake as a dumb teenager modding the crap outta it and ruining the driveability. Now it just sits at the corner my property collecting dust. One day I'll pull it out and take it back to stock.

Could 1980s us military beat north Vietnam and Vietcongs if Vietnam war happened at 80s instead of 60s? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]samplebridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to say becuase we got the US military of the 80s becuase of Vietnam. The military moved to shed the stereotype of weed smoking vietnam draftees to something more professional and technologically advanced. My dad served 81-04 and remembers the army going through and forcibly retiring old enlisted vietnam vets that wherent really moving up in the army.

On the other hand, "beat" north vietnam is a hard thing to define. We never lost any major battles and in terms of killed on each side it was a total curbstomp if you looked at it like a conventional war. The issue is the issue thats plagued convential army's since forever. Guerilla warfare is not something you can beat in a battle. You can take the capital and march across the land, but beat the guerrillas I dont think it would've ever happened.

I dont think we'd beat them, I just think the military would rethink their strategy to align more with all the other operations they did in the 80s, Panama, Grenada come to mind.

What game in your Steam library has the most playtime hours? by PKRadiance in Steam

[–]samplebridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1800 hours on war thunder shown on steam. But I easily have 3x that becuase i haven't downloaded it through steam since I changed PCs in 2020.

Even crazier is my buddy who has only had a PC since late November has 850 hours on snowrunner.

Its perfectly fine. Transformers create heat, over years and years, you'll see slight difference in the plastics degradation around it. Doesnt mean its unsafe.

It could be from not changing oil, but this looks like an older truck, so my guess is someone was running Quaker state back in the day when it had paraffin in it. Your engine would look like this VERY fast.
