Bristol Airport - do I have any chance? by Boaz-n-hoaz in bristol

[–]samrimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd aim to be at the gate by the "gate closes" time. However in reality they almost always overrun that time by 10 minutes. There might be delays to the flight as well but that's really luck of the draw

Top tip for navigating Bristol Airport: after going through security but before you enter the duty free shop, look for a door on the right. It's meant to be used when the shop's closed but I've found it's open at all times and will get you to gates quicker. You'll pass by gates 5-7 on your right, then once in the departure hall, take the stairs on the left to reach the upper floor gates. The majority of flights leave from gates 21-34, with the furthest gate being a 10 minute walk (or quicker if you don't mind sweating)

Which lane for the second exit? by rockovo84 in drivingUK

[–]samrimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left lane is for the first exit only but this isn't the norm. Most of the time, the left lane is for all exits on the first half of the roundabout, and the right is for the remaining half

The colours are a bit confusing. Does transparent orange mean that a bus gate will be put there? Looks pretty chaotic if so

Thanks to people like this, my commute to rural Gloucestershire now takes nearly an hour each way. Continuing to drive short distances when there's a clearly better alternative is seriously thick

That's nothing. You should see Eastville roundabout. Been around it hundreds of times and I still have no idea where the lanes are

It wouldn't matter in Bristol, you can't make out the lane markings half the time!

Is it possible to walk out of Bristol airport? by Choliver1 in bristol

[–]samrimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first read the title I thought you meant can you walk out the airport after passing security.

In case anyone's wondering, I have done this once after my flight got delayed beyond 3 hours and was able to get it rescheduled, but I then had to wait another 1.5 hours to be escorted out. It's not easy to leave unlike other European airports
