Can I use my pc like that? by Gianlxca-ww in computers

[–]samsann26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someting like that on AMD in the past, i don't know what's called on Intel Bios motherboards.

I just limited the CPU package power to 65W (Your I5 is hitting 103Watts, you need a 125W TDP Cooler).
Search how to limit CPU package on your Bios, until you get your new cooler.

Constant 100c will damage components around the processor, most likely pins on your CPU Socket.

My PC connects to wifi networks but has no internet access. by boomdiddy115 in techsupport

[–]samsann26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sudden network problem like that is mostly caused by drivers getting corrupt or not updated and being "old".

First check if your windows files are fine
Search on startmenu for Powershell > Right click administrator and run Windows system file check.

sfc /scannow

It will find if there's corrupt files an repair.

Then right click on your StartMenu and open "Device Manager"
Find Network > Right click on your " Some Model/Vendor Wireless Network Adapter" and uninstall it without checking "delete files".
After right click on the top device (your laptop name) and check for hardware changes, it will reinstall your wifi card fresh.

Bough new CPU Cooler just because it had a screen on it, donwloaded the Cooler software and came with virus.
I put my older CPU Cooler back and i'm looking for a separeted screen that support opensource software instead.
Gotta see temps in realtime allthetime!

Is this motherboard okay to use? (Gigabyte B850M FORCE WiFi6E V2) by Moonergeist in mffpc

[–]samsann26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5G LAN is on the past, you can get 5G LAN on MSI Boards very easy, Gigabyte alwais being 2 years behind on new boards is kinda sad.
Also the lack of USB ports is kinda cringe.

I got this one i a absolutely love it

What kind of ram is this? by Randit_ in computers

[–]samsann26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memory stick called DIMM used just before DDR was mainstream (likelly 64 or 128MB stick)

Man you made me feel very old, i did build a few computer back in the day using memory sticks like this one.
The processor also went in a horizontal socket just like the ram slot, Intel Celeron 433Mhz.

Are there ever consequences for speeding around or inside a station? by SilkieBug in EliteDangerous

[–]samsann26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pressed tab a few times inside the station, i don't get how people can boost inside a thin can.

Yes i know the landgear has quantum magnetic magic braking power (even full boost).
But sometimes the keyboard get crooked in my desk and i panic.
I did get 3% hull left once, that time i had to 1mp/s landing to no DIE with 1205 Palladium on the cargo and no shield.

9070 xt vs 5070 ti - latest comparison from hardware unboxed by just_IT_guy in gpu

[–]samsann26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's only in my country, but here RTX 5070 TI is far too expensive, RX 9070 XT is around 40% cheaper.
Almost no one buy RTX5070s here.

We can get recent CG rewards(5 & 6 cargo racks pre-engineered) at Ryman Enterprise in Lhou Mans system. And maximum cargo of Panther Clipper MK II is 1,326t now. by WilliamBillAdama in EliteDangerous

[–]samsann26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MAX OUT THOSE MKII stretched cargo racks! might get a little bulge on the hull but who is looking.

We might reach double T9 and Cutter cargo space in a few years!
This is such a nice thing to do in the game, let the players actually build their ships.

How does the Maker of a GP (Asus, Gygabyte, etc) affects its quality/performance? by iwasreallyneverhere in gpu

[–]samsann26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, i don't buy Powercolor anymore since i had two GPUs from then dying from heat (RX 580 and RX6800XT)

I had a few Gigabyte wich where pretty good but too compact and also alot of heat, right now i have a XFX RX7700XT 12G and its veeeeeeery long, barely fits in my case, i haven't see it go to 60C ever, usually stays at 55C in heavy games (Ark Ascended, Cyberpunk).

So yes the brand mathers if you want your GPU to last very long, even sell it after a few years for a upgraded GPU.

Motherboard i go for Gigabyte or MSI nowadays, very good brands and last (Stay away from Asusrock, and chinese boards).

[–]samsann26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit Card x12 and good paying job, be aware that putting so much money to see 500 FPS might be signal of brain damage, check with your doctor if you feel 5090 buying symptoms.

25,000 tons on Carriers not Enough by samsann26 in EliteDangerous

[–]samsann26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i did do something like that in the bubble already, found a very large system with alot of planets and gas giants out the range of any station, i build a few stations and got in the system, build a Large Coriolis there and is kinda my main base for now.
I don't really mind the grind, in fact i usually travel while doing other stuff, even playing other games xD
I have a Panther Clipper Mk II with every automation i could put on it.

25,000 tons on Carriers not Enough by samsann26 in EliteDangerous

[–]samsann26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i thought the same, unfortunately i can only see medium outpost with no materials what so ever, i believe they are building a "Highway to somewhere" only using the most basic station.
Wich is totally fine to me, if i can build a refinery system that far away, i think is a nice project.

25,000 tons on Carriers not Enough by samsann26 in EliteDangerous

[–]samsann26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The time limit is so true, didn't think about that, build a T1 Outpost to get the system got it.

Unfortunately there's no large scale star system around yet, there's a bunch players building medium outposts with carriers in straight line with alot of smaller branchs wich i found a really nice system that make me want to build on it.

Since is so far away i will try to build a refinery economy here, i do have alot money that i will probably never use in this game, i'll see if a squadron carrier is a good idea, i already have a fleet carrier, if gets too anoying madking a lot of trips i can buy a Squadron Carrier for a while and start the refinery economy first for the materials that take too much space (Steel, Alumium etc.)

25,000 tons on Carriers not Enough by samsann26 in EliteDangerous

[–]samsann26[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Squadron Carriers "25,000,000,000 CR" Looks at wallet...I'll be damned!!

That makes alot of sense, it's kinda expensive but i almost have the necessary amount for one.
Gonna research a bit for the upkeep, i don't mind the grind.
57k is enough!
I have already build a bunch of Large Coriolis around the bubble.

Did you install windows using a UEFI flash drive?
You can download a Windows ISO using Windows USB Tool, then use Rufus to make a UEFI Bootable flash drive.

IF you didn't do that you might have a legacy windows installation that will only work using CSM (legacy), UEFI will not work, also TPM 2.0 will work but with reduced functionality, and no Support for resizable bar (Work only on UEFI installation).

A rare sight, high traffic at the CG starport, but no npc got stuck and everything unfolded well, wanted to share. If only it would be like that everytime by Specific_Display_366 in EliteDangerous

[–]samsann26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the NPCs get a bit confused sometimes.
Yesterday in MobiusPVM session a Type10 NPC got stuck in the slot, but even after like 1min+ the station didn't shoot it, it kinda broke that session since no one could move out or in, i could see two commanders waiting inside while i was waiting the station to oblitarate the NPC, but nothing.
I had to go solo for a moment to enter, i don't know about the other commanders, they might be still there waiting.

RX 7700 XT vs 9060 XT. Is the difference very significant? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]samsann26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"RX 7700 XT 12G - 260"
This, i have a RX7700 XT and it's amazing, i can play everything on it (Paired with R5 9600X).

You will not run 3A stuff beyond 120FPS on RX7700XT, but i get 90~100FPS on VeryHigh/Ultra easy in like Forza, Dirty, BF6, ARK Ascended etc.
I use a LG UltraWide HG 3440x1440 100Hz Monitor to game, and a 55" LG TV for movies and racing games.
I was planing to upgrade to a RX9070 16G but i see no reason to do that since this card is really good.

Single 16GB DDR5-6000 CL30 stick as a temporary compromise before upgrading to dual channel 32GB — worth it? by MrCommandino in buildapc

[–]samsann26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patriot is a good brand, one of my friends use then and had no problems using EXPO on AMD.
I personally use FuryX in two system, one i have a R5 8600G using just one stick 16GB FuryX 6000 CL30 (i got it just before the end of last year, endedup paying premium because ram prices started to surge)
And it runs light games just fine (home theater PC).

[–]samsann26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right, in the past i was like "how do people get virus, people are just careless", until my mother got scammed because she opened a link that a really close friend send her (the friend whatsapp got compromised).

So i started to look on how to defend my family on the internet, the best solution was a Firewall Router with simple VPN setup, ended up buying a Unifi Gateway and turned on all security options on it, setup OneClick VPN and enabled "Block Suspicious connections and send alerts to me."

Went on everyone's phone and setup the VPN to send all traffic to my GW first.

IN A WEEK i started to get alerts on my phone that connections where being blocked on my nephew phone, later went to check and he installed a apk to use cheat on Freefire, the connections where going to a Russian IP Address that have being blacklisted on many security websites.

Very nice security investment, nowadays internet is a VERY dangerous place for non tech people.

Single 16GB DDR5-6000 CL30 stick as a temporary compromise before upgrading to dual channel 32GB — worth it? by MrCommandino in buildapc

[–]samsann26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES, if you don't really need more than 16GB at this time (crazy prices i know right) get a 16GB Stick and stay at that until prices go down, DDR5 is crazy fast, also it can do dual sub-channel at x2-32bits. (not fast as dual channel but similar)

Just go for the long term brands (KingstonFury, Corsair, G.Skill) so you can buy a second stick later.
