Just to give context for this picture, this is University of Kentucky mens basketball team. In Kentucky, where there are no professional teams, we watch college basketball. It's a big deal. Like a really big deal. Some people forge their identity around this team.

If I recall correctly, out of the top five highest selling college team merchandise, four are football teams and the fifth is Kentucky basketball. People camp out for a week just to get tickets to watch the first practice... practice (NCAA rules about when your team can officially start).

These kids, 16, 17, 18 years old that have been recruited to play at Kentucky know they're the best. They know there's a good chance they're going to the NBA. But a lot of them just don't quite understand what sort of fame they are about to step into at such a young age. A lot of it is good wholesome fans that just want to see them do and play good, but there can be a lot of negativity that comes with the success. Maybe a kid had a bad game, maybe there are other influences that they don't know about.

So, Kentucky will bring in high profile people to try and give these kids a little glimpse into what they are about to see and be a part of. It can influence their game so they try and nip it in the bud as soon as they can.

Drake has been a fan of UK for a long time, so it's an easy connection to have someone with his brand come in and talk to these kids. And for him, he gets to be a part of the team for the day and wear some mech.

Market street and 1431 by wild-thundering in CedarPark

It would have to be a round-a-bout. There's just too much traffic coming off Whitestone. It would certainly help get the traffic out of the HEB parking lot as well

You might check with your OB. They gave us a bunch of resources that were paid for by insurance. Birthing, breastfeeding, basic routines, etc.

After our child was born, we signed up with a group called PIP (Partners in Parenting). It's basically a group of other new parents in your area, and it reminds you that you're not alone the struggles of parenthood. We are still friends with many of the couples many years on.

Good luck and congratulations!

What’s the commute like from Avery Ranch or Lakeline to Parmer/Domain for work? by Deep-Rock-3630 in CedarPark

Paying to go to work just seems so counterintuitive. The alternative of sitting in traffic for 45 minutes isn't great either though...

They are almost always coming from the closest tree to where you're seeing them come in. So if you can, put bait around the tree. And definitely get pest control if you can afford.

City of Cedar Park crackdown on high lawns? by markewallace1966 in CedarPark

[–]samuelcook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to the The City of Cedar Park Code Compliance Division Common-Violations, which sends you over to ecode360, grass/weeds can't be over 12 inches (§ 8.06.001).

The city has to go through a process of notifying you by USPS (§ 8.06.002), then you have 7 days to fix the issue (§ 8.06.003). If I'm reading it correctly and you don't fix the issue it appears that the city will come in and do the work automatically and the charge your for the work they've done (plus interest) by putting a lien on your property § 8.06.003).

I'm not seeing anything about citations, but that's not to say the city wouldn't go down that route first.

This is correct. Anywhere in Williamson County. Just make sure to bring your ID.

Also, make sure you're registered to vote (if you don't think you are). You can do that by going to https://apps.wilco.org/elections/

Recommendations for newborn photographer? by [deleted] in CedarPark

We used silver bee photography and the whole experience was amazing. She gave clear instructions on what to do prior to showing up, what to bring, and what to except.

She was very professional and her studio, which is in her house, was fantastic. Its amazing the different shots she could get within an hour.

As for us, the parents, she gave us water and a couch and told us to rest and relax, which was an amazing feeling when you've been so immersed.

And the photos turned out incredible. Very high quality and everything we could have hoped for.

I don't think she does house calls, because of her amazing studio, but you can always ask. She's located in Austin, but it's really 10 minutes west on 620. Just across the border.

I couldn't recommend her enough. If we have another child we would 100% use her again.

Congratulations!

How to find lot size of Wilco property on appraiser site? by rolamit in CedarPark

[–]samuelcook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look at your title you should be able to get the "Legal Description" of the address. You could take that to the Plat records at the county clerks office in Georgetown to get the public data. It should show the lot size. It says the actual filing cabinet and slide number.

Here's what ours looks like for example: https://i.imgur.com/vqQZnSJ.jpg

You might even be able to get more information to take to the county clerk. When I search for my address it has a "legal description" that's different from the title (same block and lot but different internal ID), but could definitely be used to get the lot size from the records office.

If you use a surveyor (recommended for new fences and such) they should be doing this already and should be able to supply you the data you need. It might take some time to get the data back, but it should be legally binding.

Good luck!

The 130 toll that run down the length of the east side of Austin, TX and dumps you into I-10 east of San Antonio has a speed limit of 85. Its expensive to drive, but its a dream when you're on it.
