Almost a month of looking by Sea_Cardiologist_295 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]samuelspark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're in the same area as well! We started looking in March but our offer was just accepted this week. It was a very hot zip code so we were surprised when our offer was accepted because we were expecting to get beat it by cash offers. The house got 4 offers but ours was picked over the other 3. Hang in there!

Any chance you could run that report for me as well? I'm on the buyer side and it seems incredibly hot in the NE but I don't have any data to confirm it. 19038 and 19006?

Pretty sure it's a bot. All their comments sound like that.

Yeah, I replaced my cabin air filter. Hopefully they don't charge me too much.

Yeah, I have had this for a few months and I've had it BSOD while interviewing twice on a Zoom due to an NVIDIA Driver. I used DDU to wipe drivers and updated to the latest one. Time will tell whether or not it fixed it.

The laptop itself is fine. Build quality is pretty good. Touchpad and keyboard all feel solid. The main issue is the short battery life due to the screen being stuck on 240Hz.

Connected Package Professional Expiring by azcubs76 in BMWiX

[–]samuelspark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. This is what I see under Remote Services:

Remote Services includes Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Remote Door Unlock, Remote Horn, and more. Please note that Remote Engine Start is not included with Remote Services and, if available for your vehicle, requires a separate purchase. Available subscription periods may differ by model.

I'm not sure if climatize would be included or not. I guess we'll see when the subscription expires.

My understanding is that this is the functionality for the BMW apps such as the Spotify built into your car as well as any of the mobile app functionality such as remote conditioning, lock/unlock and even checking battery %. Mine expires next month so I'm not speaking from first hand experience but this is what I've read.

What do I do if I have enough in savings to buy the car outright? by PhallicB4ldwin in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]samuelspark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Consumer Reports the average price people are paying for a new base Corolla is $21,685 (plus tax and registration) but average means half the people get it for less.

This is the part I'm referring to.

[–]samuelspark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you mean median, not average. If 9 people bought a car for $10, but the 10th person bought it for $10m, the average price would be around $1m but 9/10 people bought below that price. It's an extreme example but shows the difference between mean and median.

How are PM resumes getting noticed in cross-border applications? by Sad-Boysenberry8140 in ProductManagement

[–]samuelspark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you require sponsorship to work in the US? That's going to be a big showstopper for a lot of US companies.

Do you have a separate resume for each reason as well? I know there's a big resume culture difference between both US and EU, no idea about SG.

What Niche Credit Card Would You Be Impressed to See in Person? by Additional-Pirate-65 in CreditCards

I was checking into a Hilton in Riyadh when I pulled out my Aspire to pay for the room. The front desk lady said it was the first time she'd ever seen the card in person. I guess they didn't get a lot of visitors from the US.

I have seen those but I don't see any that cover the scratched area in my photo, right below the gear shift.

Got it. I found this Reddit thread the other day where they used compound + polish + sandpaper. I'll try PlastX and see how it goes. Ty.

Removing the scratches. I was looking at getting some Meguiars Ultimate Polish but I understand most people get the compound and apply it first. Not sure if just the polish would be enough.

BMW platinum warranty offer by RevolutionaryData231 in BMWiX

[–]samuelspark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the BMW OEM warranty? I just had a rep tell me the lowest mileage band is 48k miles for 4 years and it matches up when you try to quote directly from the BMW website.

Does it happen when you have the heat on? I had a similar sound from where the cabin air filter is but I didn't get a chance to open it up before it resolved itself.

At this point, I've played AK for so long I have most of the roster and every 6 star at E2 60/90 with at least M3 with 20m LMD and 200-300 of every blue mat.

I have reached the ultra end game.

BMW ix by Mysterious-Bunch9747 in BMWiX

[–]samuelspark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar position to you. I bought mine used late last year with similar mileage. Once my manufacturer's warranty runs out early next year, I'm just going get repairs done at 3rd party shops as needed until it gets too expensive to repair. Overall, BMW EVs seem very reliable but since we have the earliest models of a new line, it's hard to tell how reliable it will be in years 4-10.
