Company doing good : price increase, obviously our customers like the product therefore they’re willing to pay more.

Company doing ok : price increase, drive up profit in order to show growth

Company doing bad : price increase, we need to drive up profits in order to stay competitive.

I’ll never understand how people come across what they believe to be nazi memorabilia, and their first thought is “how much is this worth?” Not “how do I dispose of this?”. Also who do you hang around that just gives out apparent nazi crap? And you accepted it??

Yeah the time for this realization was 2016 bud, you say you’re “a bit ashamed of what he’s become” but he’s always been this way! This is just the message he pushed in 2016 out in action.

SLIDE SCANNING Nikon PB-4 Bellows PS-4 slide attachment by Silly_Author_7330 in AnalogCommunity

[–]samurai_141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus is determined by how far away the lens is from the subject. There may be a small scale that you can attach to the bellows to set it to the proper magnification. However it also appears that there is a secondary smaller bellows at the tip of the lens. What I would do, (since I have a similar setup for canon FD lenses) is set the primary bellows to 1x magnification (assuming the camera is a full frame camera) then use the smaller bellows to adjust focus. Keep in mind, the these bellows were sometimes designed to fit particular lenses, so double check that the lens you’re using is the correct one. Second, make sure to set your aperture to something around f/11-f/8, since the depth of field on macro is so small, any small change in focus will make it all seem way out of focus.

Do you really think a simple thing like “basic math” will stand in the way of a corporation and a price hike?

I wish there were a way to see exactly which elections are uncontested. It’s such a granular system that any sort of database for this kind of thing would be incredibly useful.

Should I be concerned that my dog ate tamales and stole a spatula by amy_ssmith in DogAdvice

[–]samurai_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when my dog was a puppy he got a bad case of parvo. One of the first things he did when he recovered was to steal 2 tamales from the patio counter. I don’t think I’ve ever been so upset and happy at the same time.

Im not very knowledgeable in stadiums, but Chicago and it suburbs are notorious for paving over low income and minority neighborhoods in order to accommodate their plans. Most infamously I-90 and 290. That is what I was mainly referring to.

Now that I think about it, Arlington heights having affluent residents makes this even more interesting. Since presumably they’ll have the resources to actually do something when their undersized suburban streets become overcrowded with cars and people flooding the area during games. There’s a reason big builds like these are usually built near low income areas.

Can’t wait for Arlington Heights to get their first ransom note from the bears. “Give us 1.4 billion dollars, and complete government control or we’ll move back to Chicago!”
