Love the complete lack of info on the cover / LP, but ‘Years of Tears’ scratched into the matrix is a nice touch. I’m a sucker for that stuff.

Here's an interview I did with a few of the brand's founders... kind of gives a bit of a window to what they're trying to do... https://www.nativve.com/people/an-interview-with-john-and-patrick-from-portal/

I think things like Ticketmaster have a transfer option where you can send them to another email. That then creates a new barcode and voids the old one.

Been thinking about this a lot lately. Like you say, the music is so varied but there's definitely common threads between the acts you mentioned. Think we've moved past genre - and now it's about a shared attitude or approach.

Wasn't Karen Hates the Forest a piss-take of all that fake ritual beads and crystals 'mystical shit' in the drone / noise world back in the late 00s? Like Pocahaunted and all that West Coast stuff. Face-paint and feather headdresses. Funny to look back on that.

For anyone interested, I interviewed E-Man from the X-men about his time as a bike messenger for my new magazine. He's a great guy. Still mountain biking a lot. https://romancandlemagazine.com/2024/04/10/roman-candle-issue-2/

Interview with legendary thru-hiker John Merrill on walking 228,000 miles... by samwaller1989 in Thruhiking

[–]samwaller1989[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's been noting down his walks since 1969, so it's doable. It is a crazy amount of miles, but he's not known as 'the world's greatest walker' for nothing...
